Mixes & Live Sets

It is an honour for us to be included on the 333 Sessions Podcast.  We spent many months working on this extended mix, and the entire process was extremely rewarding.  After shortlisting a large set of records, we set out to cohesively piece together just over 3.5 hours of deep hypnotic sounds that we love so much.  The mix starts off with deep slow house, and then extends to Progressive House and Progressive Breaks. It contains a lot of records we specifically wrote for the mix, both individually, as “Mckeown & Bassiray” and  “Depth Institute” production outfits, as well as unreleased and forthcoming releases on our much beloved Zero Tolerance label.

Deep. Dark. Progressive. Those three adjectives captured a moment in electronic music that rippled through the scene like a sonic ideology. The sound emerged at the turn of the millennium and embraced its name with laser-like precision: it sure was deep, undoubtedly dark, and undeniably progressive.  

It’s a moment that Stuart McKeown and Darius Bassiray know all too well. As part of Melbourne’s Zero Tolerance crew and two-thirds of Depth Institute, they champion its contemporary incarnation, releasing on labels like Mango Alley, Sound Avenue, and, of course, Zero Tolerance.  

They also lived through it, making them perfectly positioned to pontificate on the scene. This year I was talking with her and we spoke about her first release 'Circadian' that came out in April 2024 on Late Night Music, and her goals in life. Leah Marie (Late Night Music) is a DJ/producer from Melbourne Australia currently based in Berlin. Leah first jumped behind the decks in 2019 and has since become a key player in Australia's progressive & melodic house scene. She plays regularly at Melbourne's most iconic venues; festivals/events in Australia, Germany and beyond. Her passions lie with the deeper sides of underground house & techno, which connect with the mind, body and soul.

Connecting Souls 104 on Proton Radio guest Leah Marie

Luis Damora is a key figure in the Spanish electronic scene. Influenced by music from a young age, he began DJing at 16 and soon became a resident at top Madrid clubs like Circus and Space of Sound. Seeking fresh inspiration, he spent years in Miami and London before returning to Spain with a refined style, leading to releases on labels like Sudbeat and Armada, as well as remixes for artists such as Wally Lopez and Chris Cargo. His recent Lose Kontrol EP, a collaboration with Nila on Balance Music, showcases his continued push for innovation in progressive house.

In this Balance Selections mix, the Spaniard blends deep, mesmerizing tech with lush progressive overtones. Featuring tracks from Alex O’Rion, Gai Barone, Eichenbaum and more, this 90-minute journey is equal parts entrancing and infectious.

Giuliano Rodrigues is a renowned Brazilian DJ and music producer, widely recognized for his significant contributions to the Dub Techno genre. Born with an innate passion for music, Giuliano channeled his talent and creativity to craft a unique and captivating sound that deeply resonates with genre enthusiasts.

In 2012, Giuliano founded his first digital label, @flowingmovementmusic. Through this label, he not only promoted his own music but also elevated the profile of numerous other artists within the genre. His commitment to sonic excellence and dedication to cultivating a vibrant community of Dub Techno producers and fans have solidified his position as a central figure in the music scene.

In 2020, amid the pandemic, he launched DUBGIU, followed by Afterdub in 2023 and @dublucid in 2024—all focused on deep tech, deep house, minimal, and, of course, Dub Techno.

Giuliano has also released tracks on @lucidflow, a label founded by @nadjalind and @helmut-ebritsch, also known as @klartraum. The duo has produced remixes of Giuliano’s tracks, showcasing mutual respect and collaboration within the Dub Techno community. Two of Giuliano’s songs were even played at the iconic Burning Man festival. Giuliano also had the opportunity to remix Klartraum's track Manifestation, which has garnered over 60,000 plays on Spotify.

Additionally, Giuliano was featured on the popular YouTube channel GENTLEMAN, which boasts over 400,000 subscribers. In a dedicated video, @gentlemantracks selected ten tracks released by Giuliano under DUBGIU and created a one-hour set featuring his music. The channel also added two of his tracks to its top Spotify playlists.

Giuliano’s music portfolio extends to @superordinate-music, founded by @naetek. He has collaborated with Nae:Tek on several tracks, demonstrating his versatility and ability to synergize with other artists. Most recently, Giuliano released new music on @piranha-siberia, continuing to contribute fresh and innovative sounds to the Dub Techno scene.

Through these platforms and collaborations, Giuliano Rodrigues continues to solidify his reputation as a prolific and influential figure in Dub Techno, constantly pushing the genre's boundaries and connecting with a global audience.

Currently, with countless remixes, singles, compilations, and his entire body of work focused on Dub Techno, Giuliano has centralized all his releases under one label: DUBLUCID.
