“Crystal Radio” is 4 track album released in 2022.  The central thread related to how time and life flow in an unpredictable pattern, but within boundaries. Lines are created based on decisions we make, big or small.  How different would someone’s life change based on these decisions?  Even say, stopping or not stopping to have a drink at a water fountain, decades previously. Everything after would have been jostled around, but with what impact?  

Two previous tracks have used this theme. ‘Silica Daughter’ appears on the 2021 project “Cloktacs III” and uses a sample where the question is asked, “You won’t fail me will you?”.  Later in 2021, samples from the 90-year-old movie ‘Back Street’ were repurposed to create a radio play called ‘Back Lane’ which will be aired as part of the 2022 Radiophrenia event in Scotland. The storyline of the movie follows a chain of events set in motion by a simple decision that alters the lives of the characters completely, forever, and ends in a classic, ‘what if’…

Method: Layering, as usual
Narration: The poem is what it is.

She kept wondering
what might have happened
to that ring she used to wear.
She can still feel its tightness
when tracing the bone in her finger.

There had been some other life,
one she cannot remember.
Traces it of it surround her
like finds on an archeological dig.
She sometimes receives calls from strangers.

The other day, she must have held
a tiny, breathing something in her arm,
caressing it with affection.
Was it a kitten? She cannot detect
any litter in her home.

Right now, she can't help counting
down the letters in the alphabet.
Nothing adds up. Therefore, the fault
lies either in the faultlines between the numbers
and the letters or it is
her turn to vanish.

 grasping at sand feeling it slipping through

 taking a stand land sinking under you
 gather the strands yet they are fraying more
Tie the loose ends It's not what you're paying for 
undue demands all that they have in store 
undoing plans What did I lay them for

This cat doesn't trust even in what he see 
Things can combust, ashes blow out to sea
Aims for his plans execute flawlessly 
But when they don’t he operates honestly
will not stray from this chosen modality 
or retract claws from his grip on reality 
scratching the surface his whiskers are twitching fast 
feeling his purpose this mission is giving that
