fika & Fabich - Missing Me

Prepare to melt into your surroundings and float away with a sumptuous slice of piano pop perfection from Australian duo, Imbibe. As indebted to Supertramp as it is to Rex Orange Country, “Time Heals Every Wound” invites you into a blissful sonic world, enveloped in warm melodies and grounded in front man Tennyson Nobel’s existential lyricism, burning with a yearning desire for something more. 

From a backyard in Byron to a bedroom in Berlin, brothers Tennyson and Holden Nobel have spent the past few years mastering their craft. 

Searching for the ever elusive “something more”, the brothers traded the sleepy bungalows of Byron for the bustling cityscape of Berlin in 2018, opening their eyes to the world around them and to themselves. “Time Heals Every Wound” is the culmination of that journey and the start of a new one. The song encapsulates their piano driven off-centre pop sound, showcasing a band with a clear sense of where they are going and how they got there.

Ultimately, “Time Heals Every Wound” is a song of contradictions. A wrestle between the comfort of knowing that peace and healing will come with time, but the discomfort of having to wait for it to appear over the horizon. A tension between Tennyson’s contemplative lyricism and the track’s warm and cosy atmosphere. A relentless earworm disguised as a breezy melody. A song that can be listened to with a smile and sense of hope as the sun flows through your bedroom window as equally as it can be listened to on a lonesome 2am walk with a head full of regret and melancholy. With “Time Heals Every Wound”, Imbibe have created a singular vibe and a song that should not be missed.

Niterunner - Right Direction

This song is a shift for me stylistically. In this track, I reconnect with my indie and emo roots, back when I played in Bay Area bands in the early 2000s. The lyrics are about resurrection, trying on the verge of loss to save something precious: a relationship, a dream, or faith.  "This Old Thing" is a nostalgic, emotive indie ballad with lush vocals, minimalist instrumentation, ambient electric guitar, and piano. For fans of Death Cab for Cutie, The Album Leaf, SYML, and American Football.
