After guesting on Damageman’s Juno Download chart smash Revenge on Murky Digital last year, Ipswich producer Conrad Subs now makes his full-fledged label debut with the varied four-tracker Dark Sets In.

Known by various monikers for his contributions to the D&B and jungle scenes over the past two decades, the Suffolk native and MAAD TING! head honcho has hit the jackpot since adopting his latest alias, Conrad Subs, in 2017. Making strides with an unfaltering work rate and a flurry of high-profile signings to labels like Soulvent, Liondub and RAM Records imprint Program, he impressed with his critically acclaimed debut LP Tides last summer and has continued to ramp up his output ever since.

This new project finds Conrad further deepening his signature sound, finding the sweet spot between immersive atmospherics and unadulterated grit. Its title track, “Dark Sets In”, is the first up, setting nostalgic, soulful vocals against an intoxicating backdrop of swooping leads, grainy basslines and decorative cowbells to make for one of his most distinctive productions yet. Staying true to this essence, the ensuing number “Expansion” is an equally punchy cut with ambient sensibilities, with its stop-start breakbeats and snarling sucker-punch synth work interwoven with echoing patois vocals, dub sirens and sparkling arpeggios.

Dabbling in an unconventionally pared-back style on “Sketchy”, he distils the D&B recipe down to its base elements, holding back even the sub-bass he gets his name from and opting for a barebones combination of frantic, pounding percussion and coarse, suspensefully infrequent helpings of bass. Last on the menu is “ILLA”, a uniquely wonky and similarly minimal concoction centred around bold, warbling leads, serving as a timely aural reminder of the veteran craftsman’s sound design prowess.

The Dark Sets In EP lands exclusively via Juno Download and Spotify on 17th March 2021, arriving elsewhere a week later on 24th March.

At the start of 2023, Savvy B was invited to become Charlie Tee's full time MC and ever since then, the duo have been dominating the scene by force! They have taken over stages across the world, performing for the some of the scene's most reputable brands such as Worried About Henry, Hospitality, Crucast and DNB Allstars, spreading their wings across Europe in Portugal, France, the Netherlands, Hungary, the Channel Islands and more. 2025 will be their third year of playing both Glastonbury Festival and Boomtown together, having smashed the mighty Origin stage in front of around 30,000 ravers in 2023, bringing the vibes in the sunshine at the Glade Dome at Glasto 2023, then performing on the Wrong Side of the Tracks (Boomtown) and Nowhere stage (Glastonbury) in 2024...this year, their sets at these ICONIC festivals are set to be real history making moments, playing on not only newly founded The Lion's Gate with a VERY special B2B guest at Boomtown, but also making their debut at the world renowned Temple at Glastonbury!

2025 is set to be their biggest year yet, and when you look back at what has been achieved so far, you KNOW that's a statement!
