This song is about the Greek philosopher Epicurus. Specifically his values, his biography and some of his quotes. I made this song as a way to remember these things for my philosophy class and it turned out dope. Enjoy. Recorded in 2013.

Epicurus tried to cure us with his mind
With philosophies against animosities, taught across cities
Stating life is a chance at the ability to achieve tranquility
One must end suffering diligently 
Over indulgence is a way to falsely live; and 
One must repulse it assemble and surround yourself with friends
Real friends no cheap thrills, with no constraints, free will
Free the mentally ill and help them live their life fulfilled
Even if one is near death, one should never fear death
Because the passing is the end of the body the soul and the mind
One must be fearless
Gods are no omniscient and we should life self sufficient
With pain and suffering deficient all will be beneficent
In addition, the gods do not reward or punish
Only fragments remain of his 300 works published
Simple measure not easy
Simply pleasures are the most pleasing, such as cheese and
Sounds of children playing and ironic running water
A shame he had no kids he would have made a stunning father
He lived a life of virtue and one in which his wisdom was shown 
The irony of the running water is that his life was taken by a kidney stone
