I discovered Frankie Knuckles through his music, one that was, gentle, lush with a subdued, understated power that rocked many a dancefloor.
I had the privilege to hear him once in the heyday of his legendary residency at Sound Factory Bar in New York. I was submerged, sonically and emotionally by the beauty of the music I heard that night. I remember very clearly saying to myself that this would be impossible to ever equal.
That was 20 years ago, and I never got to hear this magic combination again.

I got to meet Frankie a few times, and he was always like his music, gentle, humble,   yet naturally imposing

I've put together here some of my favorite music from him. So that his legacy can keep on inspiring other people.

In this episode, I focused my selections on Soulful tracks to remind all my listeners that House Music's foundation is based on Black music, derived from Soul, Funk & Syncopation of Disco Music. Indeed, this important contribution as with so-many other factors is why we celebrate and remember "Black History Month". It is also an important reminder that in the midst of all the electronic offsprings that have multiplied throughout the decades, historically speaking it is important to listen and learn your music history if you are a true lover of House Music.

That being said, this mix is paced with some Jazzy House tunes throughout, some familiar and some not. I wanted to show my love of House in a way that would help me transmit to the listener, dancer or DJ alike. I hope that you enjoy this lovely musical journey! We are at changing and shifting times in our world and with that change we have learned to adapt to unorthodox norms of daily violence, racism, Islamophobia and antisemitism. Hate, by definition, is a deep and emotional extreme dislike that can be directed against individuals, entities, objects, or ideas. Hatred is often associated with feelings of anger and disposition towards hostility. As the rise of the 1% covets and controls with power, money and greed, we are reminded that tyranny in nations states are at the footsteps of democracy. We must find it within ourselves to shift the oppressors and unify through action. As I sit here writing to you all, I send you this message of love and peace through music. Soulfrica is my process to elevate and center into a mass of self care and spiritual connection, through the music.

Moore Classic Wall is a house music production company headed by Willie Wall and John Moore. Their production skills have carved such hits as, " I'm Attracted to You" by Cookie Watkins, "Family Prayer" by Clifton King and "You Can't touch Me" by Karen Pollard to name a few. They are at it again, but this time with their own record label called 515 Records. The name lends to some history because Willie ran one of Brooklyn's first underground clubs called Pan-o-Rama, which was located at 515 Waverly ave. John being a DJ and regular at the club, they soon became good friends and formed the music production company Moore Classic Wall Music Group, and the rest is history. So be on the lookout for more hot dance tracks from these two, including a reissue of MCW classics upcoming .......
