The Forgotten XLVIII: Modvs

The third element of the series is by Hydrangea aka Horty Shooter. Expect a deep and warm musical experience.

Hydrangea is a new French electronic producer, doing techno music deeply inspired by nature and its surroundings. She began producing music in early 2014, influenced mainly by the deep and hypnotic Italian techno.

Besides being constantly preoccupied in reshaping her sound and developing new ways of expression through music, she's also a graphic designer and photographer under the alias Horty Shooter, managing the artworks for different music releases and graphic art projects.

Dutch DJ and producer, Reggy Van Oers is an artist who absolutely nails one side of the On the 5th Day sound. His phenomenal productions unswervingly engulf you in a heady, powerful state of intoxication, combining pulsating, rumbling grooves centred around a characteristic pounding kick, often alongside droning, cinematic soundscapes. We’ve been lucky enough to hear his tracks grace London's Corsica Studios sound system on countless occasions, featuring in both On the 5th Day resident and guest sets, each and every time stirring up an electric reaction in the crowd. Our next event this coming Saturday is a rare opportunity to catch Reggy extending his musical skills to the decks, when he'll be joining The Gods Planet and Korridor on one of the best deep techno line-ups going... we’re genuinely stoked to be welcoming him to Corsica. And what's more, he's recorded an hour-long podcast for us (no. 34) so you can get stuck into a beautiful taster of what's to come on Saturday 17th of June. You're welcome! ;)

A new mix for the podcast was recorded by a very interesting Swedish musician - Acronym.

Acronym has shown his relentless energy and creativity as a producer, DJ and live musician by continuously releasing his own brand of electronic music on high quality labels such as Semantica, Northern Electronics and Field Records. With over a dozen releases so far, it started with him self-releasing his first record on his own label Dimensional Exploration in the end of 2012. His music is deep and dark immersion in the most hidden corners of consciousness.

r2π is a eight-hands project born from the organic fusion of three Italian techno projects Retina.it (Nicola Buono and Lino Monaco), Prg/M (Pier Giuseppe Mariconda) and Ruhig (Luigi Cicchella).

This new project is a triangulation of three Parthenopean energetic elements that through several different paths have decided to build a perfect "quadrature of the circle", a holistic ensemble where their souls are still distinguishable though.

In June they released on Midgar Records their first 4-tracks EP "LIbrary of Babel"; during 2018 there will be two further releases: a new Ep on Midgar and a split EP along with Mike Parker on Subosc records.

On his own label Time to Express he releases textural compositions and he also records to great acclaim as Sendai alongside Yves De Mey - In performance terms, Peter lays down dark and arresting techno sets as well as captivating, story telling live musical journeys. Because of that he is renowned around the world for his high quality, high creativity, high levels of consistency, constantly translating his personality into his music.

BIO:
Giorgio Gigli born in Rome 1976, music enthusiast and vinyl collector started work as a deejay at the beginning of the 90s by proposing sounds ranging between deep, house and techno. Over the years his sounds gradually become more inspired by electronic artists such as Kraftwerk, Pansonic, Boards of Canada and Autechre. His search into sonority draws him more and more towards geometric, special and minimal rhythms which find him playing in various European clubs and festivals among which "The Nitza Club" Barcelona, "Pulp" Paris, "Goa" Rome, "Hard Club" Porto, "Overground Festival" Geneva, "Palm-Aria Festival" La Spezia, “Magazzini Generali” Milan.
He has produced music since 1999 and is presently a member of the Elettronica Romana, electronic music label born in the historical vinyl corner Remix in Rome. The first release "Chiki Disco", produced with Donato Dozzy, was received with great approval from the electronic music world. Still with Elettronica Romana he produces "Geometrik Forms" a mix of minimal sonorities with hints of trance music; a mix which has made this record unique in the sector. Shortly after he comes out with a record "Rarefied Atmosphere" on the Jeremy P. Caulfield Dumb Unit label which better represents his style being defined as a melancholic and obsessive monster. Cold and deep sounds alternate, creating a minimal and abstract atmosphere; the record goes beyond rhythmic physicality concepts and strong emotional sound. In 2007 "Planet Earth" comes out on Mental Groove, one of the most dynamic Swiss labels in electronic music. A record which confirms his static and hypnotic intent.Also to be remembered the "1' Studio Dinamico Su Melodia Analogica" ''metà tà physikà" remix for Phutura on the Registrazioni Italiane label where music is transposed into architecture, Avant-garde trance and minimalism merge for 12 minutes, creating a metallic atmosphere surrounded by unruly, insistent, rhythmical compositions. An unconventional approach to interpretation of music. Passion, nostalgia and melancholy merge together creating scenarios at times complex and disordered, difficult to interpret but always intriguing and unique. Giorgio Gigli’s style can be defined as subtle hypnotic minimalism.
