better known as Reka, has blown up on the world stage since beginning out as a DJ more than 10 years ago. Since then, she’s become a long time resident at Tresor, embarked on a career as a producer ( her debut EP, Diving the Innermost came out on Phase Fatal’s BITE in 2018) and made the jump to Berghain. But there’s more to Mendez than being a connoisseur of all genres dark and hard-edged. In addition to being a DJ, Mendez is an entrepreneur and a science enthusiast. KEYI sat down to talk with her about her world before techno and the ways in which research and precision define her creative work and her extra musical life.

Bulgarian dark mastermind @manasyt (Petar Tassev) has been rocking his own brand of Nurolektro since 2003. He’s responsible for a vast array of menacing titles on labels such as Touchin' Bass, Kommando 6, Musar and the infamous Bunker - along with about 40 others.
An artist that couldn’t care less about trends nor hypes, and whose main driving force is that authentic passion for the genre. Some of his tunes resemble a future horror movie score, others a visit to an asylum, but most sound like the soundtrack to an Alien invasion.
Currently based in Xiamen, China.

Her selections include hypnotic and dark tunes, raging from industrial to omnipresent electro influenced by slow metal and noise music. She is a creator and a resident of SNAKES parties and upcoming label.

Hailing from Thessaloniki, Greece, Alpha Sect is a project by George McCall, which is focused on breaking electro patterns and pumping body music with serious punk influences. We witnessed a killer live performance at Intergalactic FM festival this year which left us speechless. He started his music career as a guitarist in the post-metal band Sleepstream with 2 albums on their track record and he is an active musician with participations in physical theatre performances with his side-project. He's released on a long list of labels such as OSM Tapes, Soil, MSQ, Pildoras Tapes and others. This fall, his second vinyl EP will be released on Violena Viola with remixes from The Hacker and Mick Willis & Blackmoon77. He provides a pumping selection balancing the outer edges of EBM and electro. Lock in!

Galactic Funk Podcast 129 - Alpha Sect

The new release of m_podcast is a two-hour record of Mick Wills performance from Gamma’s epilogue called Delta, Mick never ceases to amaze with his approach to selecting and presenting material to the audience and he is always a welcome guest on the "right" dance floors. 25 years of experience allows Mick to organically combine in his mixes all the variety of music genres of electronic music - from modern techno to classic italo disco. In addition, he is the author of bright releases at International Deejay Gigolo. Since Delta is a logical continuation of GAMMA festival, and Mick Wills was a guest of the festival in 2016, there is no doubt that this person can recreate the festival's atmosphere on the dance floor better than many others and he definitely did.

Man if I had to pick five selectors to listen to for eternity, Morah would ride shotgun on our way to purgatory aboard my Pontiac Trans Sport. A couple of years ago I went to Athens in the middle of the summer hoping to get in some of that Phormix action. To my surprise, people go on vacation and businesses close so that did not happen but we did crossed path with grumpy Gizmo from BH at a red light intersection. I did not say hi tho. 

En tout cas, Leo and the Phormix institution continue to be pivotal players in this niche of the musical industry and it is with great pleasure that we welcome him to the series.
