Stemming from a partnership with over two decades of DJ experience behind them, Wild Dark takes on contemporary song-writing and gives it a unique, thoughtful approach using a wide spectrum of electronic music to tell a story. The duo, comprised of the NYC based brothers Corey & Ryan Negrin, stray from cold digital samples in favor of a warm, organic approach to writing music. This allows them to merge house, techno, and natural vocal work into a cohesive concept that uses soulful yet charming songwriting to nurture a sophisticated palate.

Hypnotic sounds, melodic journeys around the world and dark but bouncy harmonies are the connecting elements in the musical proposal of Peruvian musician Marco Tegui. In 2009 his electronical music career started, creating a big impact in the South American scene. Later on in 2014, Marco’s sounds arrived to Europe and he established his residency in Berlin. Playing in the best clubs of the city and releasing tracks in the most emblematic labels, Marco had become a part of the international underground Techno scene. Now with more than 14 years of experience, he has been the Label a&r of the iconic Bar 25, Label manager of its sub imprint Sirin Music and founder of his own realization DowntempoLove.

Producers are the backbone of any label; developing supportive and genuine relationships with our artists is the core principle of TOR's development. Our 'Amis' series is an ode to the figures that we feel are at the foundation of the label's journey thus far.

To kick off the Amis series on TOR, there was truly only one man for the job. Wassu will always hold a special mantle at the TOR imprint, as the man who inaugurated the label with his Andu EP in 2020. Since then, the New Yorker has turned heads with a string of prolific releases on the likes of Anjunadeep, All Day I Dream, and When We Dip XYZ. With each passing project, Wassu's mastery of warm melodies and boastful basslines deepens, showcasing the ever-evolving sound of the wizardly Wassu.

It's safe to say that Wassu has outdone himself on this one, welcoming a widespread community of producers into the fold. He grabbed the baton & ran with it, sourcing a bounty of material for the debut of Amis. More than anything, this collection of music represents the fact that Wassu is a man of the people; one of the most important characters in the deep & melodic scene. OVERVIEW from AYABLOOM

When this card was pulled it was slightly bewildering on how I would interpret it into a sonic journey. I was expecting a card that was more of an emotional position, like Love, Death etc. I had to sit with this card for a couple of months. When James made a set release date, it coincided with being on my birthday 25th September.

The more I read the description of the card the more I recognised that this mix was actually based on me as a person and the pulling the Knight of Shields was actually about a description of who I am as a person.

“The Knight of Pentacles is about the daily tasks and the responsibility that one has to gain through a specific project. This knight has the patience to accomplish all his given duties and is considered by others reliable and committed to his work. To see this card is an indication that there is a need to be trustworthy and reliable.
You are fully committed to your assignments and you make sure that you complete your work efficiently. You are absolutely loyal and do the best you can in order to make sure the job will be properly completed. Though your sense of duty is admirable, beware that it does not turn into perfectionism - which can manifest itself in every aspect of your life.”

This description also gives a description of the way I engage in my creativity and also when curating sonic journeys. I decided this Arcana mix would showcase the breadth of my love of Electronic music from Downtempo to more Deep Uptempo Organic Beats. This set ranges from 108bpm to 120bpm. I ended up playing it LIVE on a Saturday Evening in a friends lounge room with my speakers positioned behind me as I sat facing 7 of my close friends as they lay and sat on the couches in front immersed in the journey of my musical expression of who I believe I am. I didn’t actually realise how profound of an experience it would be for me performing this mix and also for the few who experienced it LIVE.
