Fear overwhelms me. My heart beats to the frenzied rhythm of my quickening thoughts. How did we come to this? How could humanity develop such fear of their fellow beings, to the extent of favoring aggression to heal its wounds? Is it not sheer madness to seek the elimination of our fellow humans in the name of beliefs that feed our fear of the other? Perhaps these beliefs are nothing more than the product of a reality that exists only in our own perception of the world?
Today, in the middle of the street, with the warmth on my face, I made a promise to meet strangers and listen to their stories. For through this, perhaps, in our exchanges, we will discover peace.
