Another Zru Vogue opus, a full-length album exploring themes of spirituality & nocturnal deliverance. ‘Before The Moon Disappears’ introduces more recent productions from the duo actually composed of Andrew L. Jackson & Rick Cuevas, followed by Patrick Coyne (long time Zru partner) at drums on some of the tracks. The sound is more ethereal, crossing up their funky groove with supernatural effects: smooth electronic arrangements meeting up the tribalistic mood of a desertic ground, drawning a place for Andy's voice... The guitars are delayed, treated with effects and thus brings a 'lounge' approach to the sound. All that gives the impression to face a dandy, speaking out 'cristal-clear' to your mind and only to your mind. This style reminds how chic and ellaborated Zru is! It results in a very immersive tale, calling the inside wish to move up and swim in an intriguing poetry that evokes surrealist experiments. This is how Zru Vogue stimulates your own-self. “You know how sometimes you try to fit in, but you stand out like a man in a rabbit costume on fire?” lf you're thinking to existentialism, Zru has the answer, that’s where their fictional hero comes up to the story: “Zero, a nothing guy living an ordinary life until he finds himself in an alternate, surreal dimension of reality where he starts to question fundamental notions of his own existence.”

This space world full of lights crossing the city late at night, boarding with them all kind of styles ... Cosmic disco,psychedelic pop, synth music. Linking past to modernity is something conscient in Andrei's sound, permitting him to play live at local places involved into technological process where conferences also take place, at the 2016 & 2017 Synthposium Festival for example.

"Cumulonimbus" (A1) was released on vinyl in 1981 on Adolescent Records.The 3 tracks from side B was self-released in 1984 on a tape called "Now!"..."Penetrating Octavia" & "No Occupancy" was composed in 2011 and  never released on vinyl.

Musiques Electroniques Actuelles presents U.S.O.C.A., side project of Jānis Sils launched some years after Bedre (Riga based minimal synth, punk act) stopped. This 6 tracks EP (to be released: June, 15th) includes compositions from 1991 to 1994, recorded in Chicago after Janis Sils emigrated from Riga, Latvia. Made with mostly self built instruments, here's an trash and solid industrial sound. Influenced by label Wax Trax! & bands like Laibach, Nine Inch Nails, Front 242, Lassigue Bendthaus... The world of U.S.O.C.A. reflects a strong talk to military minds. Something straight with no breathe. A uniting calling for masses.

"U.S.O.C.A. is an abbreviation of Urinating Statue Of Castrated Angel.
The name was adopted in early 90’s by the band members Jānis and Anna Sils in Chicago for an industrial EBM music project. Jānis Sils emigrated from Soviet  Latvia in 1989 and brought a vast underground electro punk music experience with him from his past musical project Bedre. Anna Sils at the time was a graduate of Georgetown University and a Law student in Chicago. Jānis was a fashion design student at the Art Institute of Chicago. Anna’s talent of English language writing mixed with Jānis’ creativity in sound design, midi programming and analog recording allowed them to produce these dark sounding tracks. All of the material was recorded at a home built studio using Yamaha RX5 rhythm programmer wired through midi to Roland S10 sampler that recorded samples onto Smith Corona type writer magnetic memory discs. The samples often were created from scratch and programming of songs was manually done by Jānis in a very primitive and time consuming way of the time. They stretched the capacity of the available equipment to the maximum and filtered the individual pads, samples and vocals through various effects processors and guitar distortion pedals. Digital pitch shifting was often used to modify vocals and drum machine beats.
The lyrics were written and edited by both Anna and Jānis in Latvian as well as in English languages often covering both Latvian, American or British popular songs with a sick sarcastic twist.
Later in their lives after separation Jānis landed his career in NYC as one of the heads of clothing design for several major American fashion brands and Anna works an attorney for a Swiss bank in Hong Kong. Both have successful careers and families with young children."

Chen Yi aims for a collective approach of art. As an isolated group of humans/numbers operating directly from a secret place in Chelmsford (UK), they developped a personnal and "bizarre" utilisation of guitars, machines, voices, distortion, giving as result an unconventional regroupment of compositions amongst a lot of lost/unreleased recordings. This is likely what got John Peel interested which leads to an inexplicable CBS contract. More couldn't be finalised, because CBS suddenly pulled out of the contract. "Due to their raw and alternative 'self-made' musical approach, they've been compared to the likes of Throbbing Gristle, Borghesia & Severed Heads or more underground names as Het Zweet, Biting Tongues..."

Juris Boiko (1954-2002) and Hardijs Lediņš (1955-2004) were the core members of  NSRD, which is best known as Latvian avant-garde, postmodern, experimental and underground music group active from 80's to 2000's. Their activities were widely multidisciplinary and they can't be considered as purely musicians since none of them had a professional musical education. Their creativity was manifested through variety of medias – music, performances and action art, visual arts, poetry, samizdat, the introduction of video art in Latvia... NSRD also made a significant contribution to the explanation of the theoretical aspects of art in the interpretation of the postmodernist movement, and developed the independent concept of “Approximate Art”. At the end of 80's, NSRD got connected and performed with several artists and musicians living in West Germany, including Indulis Bilzēns, Micky Remann and Maximilian Lenz aka Westbam and others.
