Akai Professional presents “OB Rising”. A dedicated MPC instrument expansion re-creating the richness, mystique and sonic depth of a classic blue and black polysynth.

The library was developed by Matia Simovich (INHALT & Jupiter Rising) to exude the characteristic and moody sound that only an OB analog synth can provide. Everything from Prince-like stabs, long pad bursts and punchy unison basses have been expertly sampled to provide an organic playing experience within the MPC workflow. 

The emphasis with this library is capturing the distinct and uniquely analog character of this classic polysynth while also making a diverse set of patches that are all production-ready and encompass every sound needed to take your song to the finish line. 

Also included is a comprehensive classic drum kit, and, when combined with the synth patches, it gives birth to the OB SYSTEM.

Steinway artist, Chad Lawson, decided Chopin needed a new introduction.  Along with violinist Judy Kang (Lady Gaga, Ryuichi Sakamoto) and cellist Rubin Kodheli (Kanye West, Norah Jones), Lawson has arranged ten Chopin works into a minimalist landscape.

It's a risk editing the "poet of the piano" but one that Chopin would be proud of.  

Taking 10 Chopin works, Lawson decided to scale the works down to a minimalist setting.  "I knew even if bare-bones, Chopin's works could still be as spellbinding as the original compositions we are so familiar with." says the pianist.
