I just thought it would be nice to dedicate a show to him, a show that he can listen to at night in his hospital bed and that would relax him. My dad is a classical singer and clarinetist and his biggest passion continues to be music. The accompanying picture was taken by my son Anton, his grandson. My dad loves flowers.

"Obwohl das Sujet des Hörstücks von einem Film herrührt, ist es ein zutiefst akustisches. Die Autoren legen offen, was man beim Betrachten von Alfred Hitchcocks Film meist nur unterschwellig registriert: 
Dass die Geschichte maßgeblich über den Ton erzählt wird, nicht über die Bilder. Im gleichen Maß, wie sie den Film adaptieren, ist ihr Stück auch ein künstlerisches Feature über Oskar Sala und dessen Mixturtrautonium, mit dem der Elektronikpionier den Sound zu 'Die Vögel' erschaffen hat. Und: eine eigenständige Klangkomposition. Denn die Autoren bearbeiten die im Deutschen Museum in München archivierten Klänge Salas zu einer neuen Tonspur für ihre Fassung, in die überdies Interviews mit Hitchcock und die Autobiographie der Schauspielerin Tippi Hedren auf originelle Weise eingebaut sind." (Begründung der Jury)
