Nimitta - Biting The Shed - One Block For Nug

for fans of: Bitchin’ Bajas, Oren Ambarchi, Robert Fripp and Brian Eno. 

Ambient guitar/synth duo Monon formed out of a facebook conversation about how the pair, Syd Bishop and Corey Lyons, had never played music together in their nearly two decades of knowing each other. It started as a plan to simply jam next time Corey was in Louisville, but this quickly blossomed into diving right into playing a show together. To get ready, they would send practice recordings and ideas to one another, but no formal band practice occurred until the two were on stage together for the first time ever. 

The show was recorded (you can watch it here), with the intention of releasing it. It was a great show, but the recording left a little more to be desired. This is where all those practice recordings came in handy, and they were blended into the live recording to create a very dense, lush and relaxing 35 minutes of ambient drones and swells.
