Last Hope

My second cover of Last Hope by Paramore. This song has helped so many including me so I'm super excited to cover it. Hope you guys like it. 

This was a spur of the moment recording. My ninth grade English teacher, Mrs. Bauerlein and her family, passed away on January 11, 2013. They've been heavy on my mind this month. For a lot of us Mrs. Bauerlein's room was a safe haven. She was that teacher that you could always go to for anything. My friends and I had just entered high school and were afraid to sit in the cafeteria with the older kids, and even though she didn't know us yet, she offered to let us sit in her room and eat lunch with her. We quickly grew to know and love her. She went through so many horrible things but that didn't stop her from greeting everyone with her genuine smile, cracking jokes, and making sure we were all well and knew that we could persevere through anything. Through all four years, I don't ever remember walking past her classroom without her greeting me, "Doing okay today Katherine?" Or the most common, "Better hurry before the bell rings! Run run run!" (She would say while laughing) because I was always running late. She loved to tease all of us and she never let anyone feel left out. Even if I didn't come out and say or show it most of the time, seeing her smile and hearing her teasing me much like a best friend would do would often give me the smile and motivation I needed to get through the rest of the day. She made us feel like we mattered so much to her and that we were loved. She and her family were lights. You would never see them without a smile on their face. I started to practice this song tonight and singing it quickly became a release for me, so here it is. This is for Mrs. Carol, Mr. Jeff, Callie, and Mollie Bauerlein. Thank you for making this world brighter and inspiring those of us to do the same while we're here. You've taught me so much and I couldn't forget you if I tried.
