Making this remix was a lot of fun. It started during a DJ set where we mixed  “Graphic (Slava Rmx)” vs The Presets – “Black Background”. The result was so harmonious, we brought it into Ableton and polished it further. The result bears equal parts weight and whimsy. We pray that it brings you pleasure.

This track was an exercise in sound design with breakbeats as the vehicle.  Basslines, leads, and pads were synthesized using the Easy Vintage Bass and PolyiBlit VST's.  I played the percussion parts' MIDI on an Yamaha DTXpress, captured it in Ableton Live 8, and sourced samples for the sounds.  Thanks for listening. An unofficial remix I did for the SonicAcademy remix contest.  I reprocessed the original drum hits through Ableton's Simpler.  I kept the original string part's audio, but set an auto-filter to sweep over it.  I kept the original synth fx melody and synth stabs, but ran the stabs through a resonator set to a G note to reinforce the tonic.  I used the midi from the original track's pad parts and created a new patch to play it as the song's lead.  Then, I used that patch to improvise a few lead fills as well.  I created an all new bassline and bass patch.
