Dino Lenny returns to Crosstown Rebels with his latest single ‘I’ve Learned That’, accompanied by remixes  from Shadow Child and Jonathan Kaspar - plus his own take with Fed Conti. 

A regular on labels including Afterlife, Ellum, Innervisions, and Diynamic, London-based Italian-born DJ/producer  and Fine Human Records boss Dino Lenny’s solo and collaborative catalogue continues to grow as he features as  one of the most consistent names within the worlds of house and techno. Having released his first EP on the label  in 2019, he now returns to Damian Lazarus’ Crosstown Rebels for a second outing with the release of his  touching new single ‘I’ve Learned That’ - which is one of a collection of records dedicated to his daughter - with  remixes from Shadow Child, Jonathan Kaspar, and his own interpretation alongside Fed Conti. 

“My daughter Victoria is seven years old. Since she was born, I always felt I had to make sure she knew  about me straight away. You never know how much time you have. At first, I was going to write a diary  with all my thoughts and stuff like that. But if she’s a little bit like me, she’d probably pick up the book a  few times and leave it there. So I decided to transform my thoughts for her into songs. ‘I’ve Learned That’  is one of those.” - Dino Lenny. 

Shaped by emotive piano keys, blooming strings and refined drums, ‘I’ve Learned’ showcases a rich and  heartwarming production taking cues from dance music and beyond as the track’s uplifting and inspiring vocals  carry the production across nine minutes of delight. 

Beginning the transition towards more traditional electronic spheres, his remix alongside Fed Conti utilises vibrant  guitar licks and a luminous bassline to head into a late-night discovery of disco influences. Next, Shadow Child’s  ‘Classic Mix’ is a skippy house gem as bumping low-ends work amongst hazy chords, with Jonathan Kaspar’s  remix moving deeper via surging synths for a hypnotic and thrilling ride to close.

The first EP on the label newly founded by Patrik Schifferle aka. Shiffer comes from him and the German songwriter Paul Brenning. The work on these collaborations spanned over two years and perfectly demonstrates what the new label stands for, namely togetherness and creativity. Starting with the drum loops and chords by Shiffer, and continuing with the beautiful lyrics by Paul, the tracks were written by the two of them together over a period of months. The result is the "Stranded EP", a melancholic and warm mini-LP with cinematic vocals and deep grooves. The record is rounded off with a timeless remix from Mano Le Tough.

The story behind this mix: I stumbled upon this mysterious, edgy, wild track on Spotify. It shook me in that I-need-to-know-who-made-this kind of way. But the artist and title? A string of emoji language. Hmmm, even more intriguing.

After some digging, I found it on Bandcamp. No way I could not use it, so I mashed it up. Got overly excited. Still am.

Born in 1985, Kaldera is a producer and DJ from Berlin. Although this does sound pretty basic, you just haven't entered his universe yet. Being passionate about music production, he's been developing his vision of music over the past 7 years and is happy to share it now with his audience.

His productions gather a deep techno wave and a keen ability to twist and tear the melody and rhythms, extracting intense flows from it. After releases in 2014 under Karera and later under WONNEmusik, he started to allow people to discover his universe. He's not going to scorn on you, he is not pretending to be the best producer and DJ ever.

Medeea Haruki is a DJ, producer, singer, freestyle composer, and former professional dancer blending raw techno, melodic house, and dreamy deep-space grooves. Medeea's musical journey began with classical vinyls spinning at home, courtesy of her mother, and was later electrified by her father’s rock collection.
