Aus Music follow up a string of records from fresh signees Paul Woolford, Tom Trago and Recloose with the return of a long term friend and label favourite Marquis Hawkes. Hot on the heels of his recent LP ‘Social Housing’ - the Berlin based artist lines up ‘Doornroosje’, a tight a two-tracker that remains consistent with his output on Aus: dancefloor-focused jams suffused with simplicity and soul.

‘Discopuss’ kicks things off with a potent combination of samples and hardware as sassy Funk samples are propelled by tough crunching drums. The title track then follows up with piano stabs and busy, percolating synth lines driven at a pacy rate to rapturous effect rounding off another solid addition to Aus Music’s catalogue.

Techno two-piece Slam (Stuart McMillan & Orde Meikle) bring the new double vinyl album Machine Cut Noise to the forefront next month Stuart and Orde's day-to-day proceedings consist of maximum time spent on the road, in airports and hotels; which also forms the creative hub for their music-making. It's this transitory state that largely dominates the vibe on Machine Cut Noise.

With each of the album's eleven tracks handed its own unique energy, this concept is probably depicted most prevalently in "Psalm". There is a deep emotional core found within this programmed 7.5-minute piece. It conjures a direction that 'has been paved by the machines which surround us'. A technophile's voyage into the unknown we strongly recommend getting on board with.

Machine Cut Noise comes out on 28th October on Slam's own Soma Records.

EPISODE 001 - TeemaS: Our First Resident DJ

TeemaS has always had a passion for electronic music, discovering the thumping rhythms of techno during his time at university. TeemaS decided to teach himself to DJ over a year ago, quickly developing into a talented and well informed selector. Behind the scenes, he is also working on his production, developing a back catalogue of tracks for imminent future exposure. He delves into many genres within his sets, sharing his love for the diversity of beat patterns in the industry. 

The inspiration for this mix was a collective memory of the various electronic music events he has attended over the past year. He admires the styles of DJs such as HAAi and Hot Since 82, who drive the tempo up and down throughout their sets, leaving you questioning where they will go next. The following genre-hopping hour from TeemaS shows why he is our first resident selector. This is big. Expect many more to come.

EPISODE 004 - Ollie T

Ollie has been DJing for just over a year now, unusually learning the skill of mixing vinyl long before he transitioned to digital. He started off by mixing his fathers old house and techno records, developing a love for 80’s and 90’s house and building an impressive library of music in a short space of time. 

His first memories of electronic dance music were created through listening to legendary producers such as Daft Punk, Chemical Brothers and Golden Girls (pretty much anything from R&S). Since upgrading to digital equipment (only within the last month), Ollie has decided to combine his multi-generational knowledge, making transitions between old dance classics, deep Ibiza house and modern grooves. 

His multiple trips to Ibiza have had a large influence on his music taste, allowing him to watch DJs such as Black Coffee and Hosh play at world famous venues, including Hi and the Blue Marlin. At only 17 years old, this DJ is way beyond his years. 

This mix is killer. We hope you enjoy 🎧
