Pull The Trigger

Subztain was brought to life in the late summer of 2011 when the band subtopia was forced to change name due too copyright issues. Subztain originates from "Upplands Väsby", the same town in Sweden as the bands Europe, Candlemass and Heat, located a couple of kilometers outside the capital, Stockholm.
 
We play rock music. Not that hard pounding black, death, speed, growl metal but somewhere or somewhat close to it. The guitars are fat with explosive riffs and the vocals are melodic. If we where to categorize our music it would be somewhere in between Alter Bridge and maybe Metallica or Nickelback. We all like to play around with different techniques hailing from a wide range of different genres and playstyles.
 
We have a pretty standard setup in Subztain. 2 guitars, vocals, drums and bass. We used some samples on the album but no more then needed. We like to be able to perform our music live without relying on samples. --
 
In Januari 2012 we started recording our album "Conflict Solution" in a local studio in Upplands Väsby/Stockholm/Sweden! The producer and audio recording engineer, Chris Snyder from Standstraight Studios, have produced and recorded great bands such as, Nightwish, H.E.A.T, Swedish idol, and much more. The studio also won a price at the Hollywood Music Awards for best album production. The Subztain album "Conflict Solution" took about 4 weeks to record with vocals, drums, guitar and bass. After the mixing process was completed the album flew over to Great britain too "Abbey Road studios" for some Mastering sessions. And a great moment for us was when the senior mastering engineers made a comment in his retuning e-mail saying, "- Great songs!" According to Chris this does not happen very often so we were thrilled.
 
 
We've been trough alot during our years with this project, facing challenges around every corner. It really redefines what you think you know about the music business when you go head first into it with full dedication. Theres alot of trial and error, alot of  sweat and blood, but it's all worth it when we get to go up on that stage and do what we love infront of the people that matters: our fans, old and new alike!
 
A recent milestone for us was when one of our songs, "Pull The Trigger" got featured at the STIM Music Expo 2012. Our song got reviewed live on stage by members of the elite in the Swedish music business: Lazee, Alex Kronlund, Sonja Aldén and Nicke Borg. This was later broadcasted on Swedish national television. We got some great feedback and had an awesome time, and it meant alot to us that they chose one of our songs!
 
We've had some hard times to the point where we've had to replace bandmembers because they simply couldn't handle the pressure . Not alot of people are true to themselves in committing to the task at hand, not understanding what it takes to actually make it as a single unit or group. Someone said "if you book them, they will come" and that is simply not true. We say, - If you work hard, spending time to be the best you can be at what you do, promoting the band anywhere you can, care for your fans and never get full of yourself, do everything you can to show the world that you exist as a band, then maybe you'll get one step closer to your goal.
 
But this is why we are different from other bands i guess. We spend everyday of the week talking to people, spreading the word, working all the angles we can find to get ahead. We work as a single unit and our determination is fierce.
 
As any other hardworking band grinding away, our dream and goal is to play music for a living, doing what we love.
