We are very excited to present this collaboration between our Spanish Berlin-based brothers Kyodai and Daudi Matsiko.
Daudi Matsiko makes Bleakfolk - uplifting folk songs. With roots in Uganda and the UK, Daudi’s love affair with music began at the tender age of 8, and began to flourish during his teenage years when he put pen to paper and began to write his own material. A crucial part of his existence, music has served as a therapeutic outlet, comforting him through the troubles life has thrown his way, and has led to the development of his sincere and heartfelt musical style. His self released songs are inspired by a range of classic talent, the influence of Nick Drake, Jeff Buckley and even The Beach Boys can be heard throughout. His music has been playlisted by Gilles Peterson and Best Of British Unsigned mentioned him as One To Watch In 2016. 

Kyodai met Daudi in Turkey at Sunsplash Music Festival and were blown away by his music and talent. The rest is history. Daudi and Kyodai teamed up for a journey into electronica - folk - indie and house. 

Kyodai released on various labels such as Freerange, Pokerflat, Compost, Local Talk, Dirt Crew and Exploited in the past - to mention a few. Their music has been supported from heavy weights such as Masters At Work, Laurent Garnier, Jimpster and Gilles Peterson. In 2013 they released ‘Music Rises Up’ feat. Stee Downes on Exploited - a song they introduced in their Boilerroom Set back then.
2014 saw their more dark follow-up ‘Sound Of The Falls’. 2016 they are back on Exploited with ‘Houston In The Blind’. 

'Born into a household steeped in Jazz, they picked up instruments very early, first off piano, then percussion, bassoon and double bass. As such, their house music is more like live music - all played, no samples. "When we travel and meet these young guys, they think we're sampling everything. They're saying, 'Where did you find that piano?' No, we are recording it, " adds Luis. 
Their first electronic incarnation was in the late '90s as a live techno outfit called Way Out. They supported the likes of Claude Young and Luke Slater, but never released a record, only making live studio and club recordings. It was when they formed the outfit Wagon Cookin' at the turn of the Millennium that things ramped up. Sawg's Chris Duckenfield urged them to release material on his Odori label, and they also recorded for Munich's eminent Compost and their own imprint, Appetizers. 
They released four albums in all as Wagon Cookin', but having made musical connections with Jimpster from Freerange, a new project they were mulling took over. At first, they kept the identity of Kyodai a closely-guarded secret. They even managed to fool Gilles Peterson, long a fan of Wagon Cookin'. He played their first new tracks on his Radio1 show, believing them to be from an unknown Japanese producer (Kyodai is Japanese for 'brothers').' (DJMAG)

Exploited Label Boss Shir Khan was after Kyodai for more than 2 years trying to meet the persons behind this secret project around that time. In late 2012 they were finally introduced to each other via Daniel Best (Best Works/Sonarkollektiv) at Watergate Berlin and since then became friends.

Partial Press Release: The 44th release on microCastle welcomes Mike Griego to the label for his debut EP. The Argentinean artist closed out 2015 with a remix of Hernan Cattaneo & Guy Mantzur's 'Imaginarium'. That strong momentum continued as 2016 began with his much loved 'Sofia' production being licensed to John Digweed's 'Live In Montreal' mix compilation, released on Bedrock in February of this year. Mike has long been and remains one of his country's most in demand DJs, making regular appearances at Bahrein, La Boite and The Bow. Now presenting his first new productions of 2016 Mike makes his long awaited debut on microCastle with the 'Idioglossia EP', alongside remixes from BOg and Hermanez.

The EP begins with the title cut, which like many of Mike's productions has become a secret weapon for both Hernan Cattaneo and Guy Mantzur. Another track shrouded in mystery since autumn of last year, both Hernan and Guy have been highlighting their sets with its infectious energy. Hernan loved the production so much in fact he requested a special intro version to open Creamfields, Buenos Aires with in November of last year. It's distinctive grooves became immediately recognizable and a break of melodious, meditative energy ultimately seals it's brilliance. Like many great productions it came from somewhere close to the heart, as Mike describes, "I wasn't feeling good because of some family issues, and I just felt the urge to get into the studio and make music. You have to be quick to recognize these atypical moments and make the most of them. With 'Idioglossia' I was looking for the perfect balance between groove and melody, making people dance but also taking them on a trip."

Hailing from Cologne, and being for sure one of the best kept secrets of the city, Tim Engelhardt presents his debut on Sincopat with a stunning pack consisting of three original tracks and a huge remix by one of the most respected European producers: Vince Watson. 

Fundamentals is made along with Andreas Lindemann. This connection between Cologne and Hamburg represents a new era in the Germany electronic scene and this track shows a fresh update to the traditional house and techno.  Veteran Vince Watson demonstrates again his high class production skills taking the track to a new and valuable landscape. 

To close the ep, Tim gets alone with Star Safari, a rich picture full of different layers of amazing sounds.

Kicking off the 2016 release schedule with a new EP from the Retrofit label boss Jay Shepheard and collaborator Kito Jempere of St Petersburg, best known for his productions on Dirt Crew, Lets Play House, Freerange and his own Fata Morgana label.

The pair first met at a festival in Budapest, where after a torrential downpour flooded the venue accommodation the two DJs were bunked in a local hotel. Since then they have played multiple gigs together at venues such as Dom Beat, St Petersgurg, Solyanka, Moscow and Watergate, Berlin.

Blending deep analogue bass lines, soaring arpeggios, live marimba, glittering synthesis and rough edged, classical percussion the pair nail four dancefloor gems that have been rocking their sets for the past few months and will be way into the future.

Watch out for more from these two together further down the line but first, we exclusively premiere the titles track from Retrofit's latest EP, "Rhubarb Wire".

Media Blackout alumni Le Flex returns with his latest smash ‘In My Dreams With You'. The London based enigmatic Le Flex has been a regular in many top artist playlists, constantly showcasing his huge originality and versatility without ever disappointing. From the first beat it becomes very clear that Le Flex created a monster of a track that has all of trademarks and heartfelt vibes we have come to love from him. Essential stuff that should not be missed!

Japanese master and Kitsune alumni ‘Boys Get Hurt' makes a welcome return to Media Blackout with his incredible rendition of ‘In My Dreams With You'. Boys Get Hurt's affair with sound "through heart, hands and computer tools" has led to a raft of successful releases and remixes, and this is no exception. Part Indie Dance, part melodic laid back Chill House; his remix of is ode to house music that creates a mood that's perfect for any setting.

The second remix comes from none other than French sound maestro Egoh, who to people in the known is a true master of the craft. He drops a stunning remix of ‘In My Dreams With You' a modern beach house jam with all the right elements. The bouncy bass and great synth chord arrangements create a sexy, provocative atmosphere while Le Flex's voice make words settle in truly magical fashion, creating a warm felt atmosphere that creates special memories every time you listen to it.

Russian wunderkind Toly Braun, famed for his body moving beats and immense production skills, delivers a remix that dives into more upbeat territory with lots of euphoric vibes. The luscious use of the vocals, bass stabs and driving drums make for an irresistible rhythm while the clever chords round off these fantastic interpretations.

Last but not least we have Media Blackout favourite MotiBo who's remix focuses on the melodic side, by cleverly chopping the beats and vocal for the opening part oft he track to create a moody and emotional vibe, which in combination with some swinging drums half way thru establishes so much positive energy that it takes you right to any happening beach house club at sunset in the world, emphasising the vast musical spectrum this release has on offer.

Satin Jackets’ gorgeous electronic pop song ‘Feel Good’ gets a single release, backed by remixes from the likes of  Cavego, Keljet and In Limbo.

‘Feel Good’ is a reimagination of the duo’s hit track ‘You Make Me Feel Good’ and features LA four-piece Scavenger Hunt on vocals. It retains all of the gloriously bowled over sentiment of the original but with some of the extra polish Satin Jackets have picked up since that track was originally released. Jill Lamoureux (Scavenger Hunt) says of their new vocal contribution: “We instantly connected with ‘Feel Good’ and wanted to breathe new life into this brilliant track, by giving it a voice, a narrative. ‘Feel Good’ feels like jumping into a cool pool on a hot summer day - refreshing, exhilarating and sexy.” 

Delivering the first remix is Norwegian Cavego (aka Even Gillebo). Seen as a champion of the nu disco sound, he has conjured up a glossier, more funky version of an already smooth disco gem. At the forefront of Dutch indie dance is Keljet. Their remix adds an extra layer of sparkle for optimum dancefloor effectiveness. Finally, In Limbo slows things down by creating an appropriately mysterious and enchanting remix.

‘Feel Good’ is taken from the much-lauded Satin Jackets debut album ‘Panorama Pacifico’. In their 8/10 review, Mixmag perfectly described it as “a collection of love songs perfect for the dancefloor, lounging around the poolside, or both”.
