'Awakening' features sounds from a small glimpse of an unique and wonderful natural environment and the Anklung, a tradition Balinese instrument. It has an energizing trip-hop groove yet creates an invigorating vibe to start the day. The underlying sound bed was recorded at dawn by a stream in Ubud, Bali. The chorus of insects, birds and geckos are a celebration of life. I built the track around them with additional guitar, bass and beats. This piece is dedicated to all the precious species of our planet, those who give us unconditional love and especially those who are endangered as well as the dozens that go extinct everyday due to the recklessness of ours.

Awakening

This piece is about the give and take, the push and pull, the inspiration and expiration that is life. Throughout most of our lives, we are in motion and water provides the flow. 'In Motion' is set to the gentle rhythm of ocean waves and driven by the Balinese Rindik and guitar. It is dedicated to the water element and the precious oceans and rivers that we depend on for life. Mni Wiconi, Water is Life.

Tranquillout is a dreamy and meditative piece for calming the busy mind and restless heart. With a bed of wind sounds and earth resonance tones, a hypnotic landscape of spacious percussion provides a groove for Balinese rindik, nipple gongs and echo guitar. So breathe deeply and Tranquillout.

Cloudburst

Roland Marconi, a lifelong collector and student of music has been performing and recording music for over 30 years.  His passion for music and instruments from every part of the world, combined with a fascination for electronics has generated a diverse and prodigious body of works that spans the genres of Pop, Rock, Jazz, Electronica, Ambient, New Age and World. As a guitarist, songwriter and music producer, Roland has been an integral part of  several pop and rock original music projects such as “The Rexalls”, “Roots of  Reality” and “The Special Interests”  in which he has performed and recorded using video, audio samples and a mixture of acoustic, electric and electronic instrumentation. His latest psychedelic electronic project 'Resonica' combines ambient electronic textures with psy-funk rhythms and sound FX and received an "Outstanding" mention from Noise Festival 2014.
As a producer, songwriter, guitarist, percussionist and project coordinator, Roland has created “A Chance for Peace”, a compilation CD benefit for “Educators for Social Responsibility” released shortly after 9/11 to promote peace and social justice education in our public school systems.
He has scored soundtrack music for  the documentary, “The Amazon Rainforest - Struggle for Survival” and the award winning Gary Null produced video documentaries, “AIDS - The Untold Story”, “Gulf War Syndrome: A Deadly Legacy” and “Deconstructing the Myth of AIDS”.
As Music Composer, Sound Producer and Video Artist for the Turano Dance                Company, Roland has participated in the critically acclaimed productions of “Captured”, “In-Active Sleep”, “Carmen”, “Carmen in the Underworld” 
and “Xpulsion”.
