they're all subsidized indeed, but I do believe weapons manufacturing, of the various parts for the weapons, is actually spread across all 50 states. So technically weapons sales have a limited impact for workers in the manufacturing and assembly of arms sold. I think that's why Trump boasts about selling arms. sure the arms corps exploit their workers and run away with the bulk of those funds, but there are constituencies within every state that benefit from arms sales. I believe that's also why so many elected state officials always vote in support of arms sales and the military industrial complex on the whole

The only Russian presidential election that was outright rigged was the 1996 one, courtesy of the US government.

A Syphon Filter!?  I remember there was a PS1 game back in the day where a bioweapon was developed that would on kill certain people - be it racial, ethnic, etc.  Another thing I'd like to hear more about.

The BBC is not funded by the UK government. It is funded by licence fees paid by the UK population. But the UK government use it as a propaganda arm.

I don't know if this was touched upon later in this episode or the next one, but Saudi Arabia and he US fell out of favor with Qatar back in June, so I could see some of that political backlash eventually sliding in for Qatari "news" outlets like Al Jazeera on YouTube.
