HMM correspondent Renee Powell speaks to author of "Your Path to True Freedom:  10 Principles to guide you to Living the Life you Deserve."  Ms. Ella Maria LeBlanc is a life coach and entrepreneur.  She believes that you are amazing and should be living your best life.  This debut book has a companion book titled "Your Path to True Freedom Guided Journal." As our audience probably knows by now, one of our producers Meghan Marohn was reported missing from Lee, Massachusetts on March 29, 2022, This past weekend her body was found. Since today Meg would have turned 43, we decided to collect some memories from her people near and far. Hudson Mohawk Magazine producer Elizabeth Press put together this piece.

According to her bio, "Mary Panza has been a mainstay on the Albany poetry scene since 1988. She has been witness to countless open mics, naked poets, fires, drunks, chapbooks, career changes, organizations (both coming and going), festivals, and great poetry and spoken word. " 

Mary hosted two long-running open mics - 5 years at Borders in the late-90s and the Poets Speak Loud series at the Lark Tavern and then McGeary's for 15 years until the pandemic hit in 2020.

Last December Mary read her poem, "We're Barefoot People," at the first "Year in Review" spoken word event at The Linda.

Lawmakers have placed an Equal Rights Amendment on the ballot this November. While an upstate judge recently blocked the measure on procedural grounds, most legal observers expect that decision to be overturned. The measure states that “No person shall, because of race, color, ethnicity, national origin, age, disability creed, or religion, or sex, including sexual orientation, gender identity, gender expression, pregnancy, pregnancy outcomes, and reproductive healthcare and autonomy, be subjected to any discrimination in their civil rights.” Melanie Trimble of the NY Civil Liberties Union will discuss the proposal on Wednesday, May 22, at 7:00 at the Bethlehem Public Library, 451 Delaware Ave., Delmar. She talked to Mark Dunlea of the Hudson Mohawk Magazine.

Ismail Ali is Policy & Advocacy Counsel for the Multidisciplinary Association for Psychedelic Studies, otherwise known as MAPS. His job is advocating to eliminate barriers to psychedelic therapy and research by developing and implementing legal and policy strategy.
