Drum & Bass Promo Mix 2016

Austin, Texas native and one third of the Mad Classy Crew, Chango is about to drop a new EP called Friction (out Aug. 19), and we've got "What It Is" to share with you ahead of the release. On it he brings together a few overlapping and often intermingling elements; jungle, dancehall and footwork all interplay at various points through the four-track release. On "What It Is", however, no bones at all are made about what this track is: pure, bass-heavy, teeth-smashing jungle with abrasive low end, stomach-churning breaks and paranoiac voices flitting in and out of the track, all seemingly in a fatalistic bid to push you over the edge, never to return again. It's brutal, aggressive but without compromising the track's jungle roots he's managed to inject it full to bursting with huge swaths of colour and personality. This is unrepentant, unabashed fun—albeit slightly terrifying.

Section 8 Recordings Podcast 18 - KRYTIKA

In this month’s addition of the podcast we drink copious amounts of Cockbay Rum, perhaps one of the worst flavoured rum based drinks we’ve ever encountered.

The All Philliez Mix

American musicians Thomas C. Overly , aka OverlyMedicated, And Dom R. Monistere aka Omcreator , have what some would say to be a fateful congregation . Both Hailing from the city of San Antonio TX, USA , the widely diverse music Aficionados had managed to not end up in the same room for over a decade , despite both of them being well integrated into the city's tight-knit drum n bass scene . 

Both being lifelong musicians of various styles and instruments , Dom and Tom share a strong skill set which naturally lent itself to their presence in the world of bass music , and placed them in a firm position to collaborate on what became the musical conquest known as " MediZen " . 

These Texas boys are quickly and forcefully turning heads in the dnb world , from fans and dons alike . Not eager to repeat a methodology or formula - MediZen music leaves stylistic expectations to the wind. Deep rollers , glitchy liquid funk, neuro, dub , jungle, big room dnb ... MediZen music changes from day to day ..track after track. 

Most notably , MediZen performs with a presence and gridlock that leaves the floor no choice but to move. With a combined 30 years experience in the 1's and 2's, and nearly 20 years combined experience producing nearly all styles of electronic music on various projects , the duo have come together for one purpose - to push the envelope of Drum n Bass without fear of doing something unconventional or different - to make high energy bass tunes that can't be Ignored .
