My response to the asylum seeker policies in Australia, performed with the beautiful Holly Caldwell on piano and Heather Morcom on vocals as part of my feature at Slamalamadingdong! September 2013. The musical part is based on Hans Zimmer's soundtrack for Man of Steel, which, along with the film, helped inspire this poem.

Suspended Motion

Created through the manipulation of Bad Cat Samples' new library, Performachord. I tried to see what sonic potential is hidden in this otherwise traditionally (and escellently) sampled instrument. Visions II is actually nothing more than Visions I pitched down by an octave. 

Visions II

In response to a challenge by Troels Folmann on the VI-Control Forum, this short piece attempts to pull off a quick repeating string legato motif using a non-8Dio string sample library. The strings are a combination of LASS and Cinematic Strings 2, and the piano is 8Dio's 1928 Steinway.

Street Brawl

A short improvisation with 8Dio's 1928 Steinway Piano. Came up with this in the course of developing a piece for 8Dio's Stand Out Composer Competition, and I quite liked it just by itself. The actual piece for the competition will turn out very different - this is just what happens when you're tring to come up with stuff and half-procrastinate. :)
