Recorded at the start of the Iraq War. What a crappy time for America. I think this was about the time my brother-in-law became a prison guard in the Abu Ghrab prison following the torture scandal. Also heavily weighing on my mind was the Patriot Act and the Department of Homeland Security; specifically the threats posed to our democracy and liberty. Interesting to me now in the context the recent Senate torture report and the past NSA spy scandal.

This song was inspired by the painting, "Saint Giles, his bells", by Charles Altamont Doyle. I came across the painting about 15 years ago while researching the idea of demons in various cultures. Not surprising, each culture has their own idea of demons. At the time I was focusing on Western concepts of black magic in rock music and how the idea of the demon was used in the marketing of 1970s rock music. In short, the idea being that the bands were using the fear of what is considered evil to increase their own mythology. Anyway, the picture stuck in my head.  

Demons Unite

A description for this result is not available because of this site's robots, drones, warlocks, minotaurs and the crazy hot girls that are clearly not who they say they are. These are dangerous things and people who could hurt you. I like buttons and knobs and things that light up and noises that happen by chance. My favorite color is orange.
