Distant Episode 46 / May 2021

It has been a year since I released some new music, but in just two weeks time two different tracks have been put out! A remix by Joris Voorn of Fool's paradise and a remix for Joachim Pastor called Wardenclyffe. Very happy to finally have some new work out in the world. Both tracks are included in this months episode! And even more exciting is that more stuff will be released in the next few weeks. But more on that later. I hope you enjoy <3

As cliche as it sounds: it is especially in difficult times that I can find peace in music. It makes me actually feel the things I’m dealing with more profoundly, bringing emotions to the surface. Creating the space to explore them, understand them and accept them. For me, this is such a set. This months episodes explores some very beautiful and emotional music. Hopefully it brings you some of its healing power ❤️

Distant Episode 62 / September 2022

Closing off December and with that 2024 with a very special one, dedicated to a very special one. I'm sending you off on an epic journey with this longest XI set so far. Strap in, close your eyes, and let this mix take you off into the great unknown. Maybe you will lose or find yourself a little bit. Where Part 1 felt warm and comforting, Part 2 is none of that. It feels more of an adventure, with all the insecurities that come with it. As said before, 2024 wasn't always the nicest to me. I felt like with the closing of this year, I pressed the hard reset button on my life. It feels a little bit like I have lost control, and to be honest that feels frightening at times. But life only happens when you step out of your comfort zone. Here's to new beginnings in 2025, both professionally and personally. Here's to many more days and nights of dancing with friends and lovers. And to you, everyone who has been listening to my journey so far, and supporting me with your kind words and honest feedback: thank you from the bottom of my heart! Spend the holidays with your people, and we'll see each other again soon enough! <3 Joey.

I don't think I would be the only one if I say I have been feeling a bit powerless the last couple of months. Like there is nothing more I can do to wait for it to pass. Distant Episode 39 / October 2020

This Distant episode I wanted to try something different. This time I wanted to express the concept of time. Lately it feels like time has slowed down, however, in reality, time is flying faster than ever. One day goes by and before you know it, an entire year has already passed. I tried to reproduce this in this month's episode with music that, for me, has a sense of hope, nostalgia or uncertainty. Let me know how it turned out and if you have noticed that same feeling! Nevertheless, enjoy.
