The 73 stringed psaltery is a table-harp. I designed this one years ago, and it has been used on albums, in movies, and on various CDs. What you hear is the unprocessed natural acoustic sound of the instrument, recorded with one microphone. Yes, it really sounds like that, live.

Meander

An early experimental track on a Fairlight Digital synth (1976). Part of an  exploratory music structure commissioned by the Henson Organization for The Dark Crystal. This track was created at Crescent Studios in Bath. Jim Henson asked me to create a sound-world for the Dark Crystal, and I suggested that we use the (newly created) Fairlight Digital synth. The music for the final film was a beautiful and moving  score by Trevor Jones. While some years have past, I think that the voice of the Mystics chanting in the final cut of the film is my voice, through the Fairlight Synth, from this early experimental sound-world.
