Roots Garden present a brand new single featuring the legendary Jamaican trombonist Vin Gordon.
Inspired by his memrories of writing songs under the mango tree, in the iconic Jamaican 'Studio One' yard at 13 Brentford Road. Vin delivers a blazing horns instrumental, his confident style and sophisicated phrasing cementing his credentials as a true master of his craft. Brighton based saxophonist Leroy Horns adds further harmonies and majestic vibes to this contempoary roots classic.
Manasseh strips the rhythm back to its raw elments on the flipside, it's organic drums and deep bassline providing a heavyweight dubwise outing.

Reggae veteran Johnny Osbourne is one of Jamaica’s best-loved singers with scores of hit tunes from nearly four decades for the likes of Winston “Bam Bam” Riley, Studio One, King Jammys,
Channel 1, Bobby Digital and countless others. His hits span
over 30 years and include “Truths and Rights”, “Folly Ranking”,
“Buddy Bye-Bye”, “Come Back Darling”, 
“Give a Little Love” and “Water Pumping”.

“Black Starliner” was first heard as a Sound System dubplate special, eventually released by Roots Garden to popular demand on 7inch single in 2005(RGR:001). Quickly selling out, the song gained massive air play on radio stations worldwide and became a much sought-after modern day roots classic on the European sound system circuit.

Manasseh totally reworks the original rhythm track for the remix
with more of a contemporary feel, yet with obvious references
to the early 1980’s Roots Radics era of ‘dancehall’ roots hits
mixed by Scientist. Johnny Osbourne’s baritone vocal takes a
fresh approach to the popular repatriation theme by
addressing the issue from a sharper angle:
”you wait for the Black Starliner, and you never want to
go a Africa, you never want to hear the words of Jah Jah,
you never read up the holy scripture, you never respect
one another, and yet your waiting for the Black Starliner?!”

West London’s Dark Angel is a talented and versatile roots, dancehall and R & B singer who in recent years has built up a name within London’s underground dancehall scene and on pirate radio. In 2008 gave way to the release of the lyrically inspired herb anthem “Medication” on the Norwich Foundation label.

Dark Angel tackles the rhythm like a man sent on a mission from the creator, his militant singjay tones sounding reminiscent of Capleton over a relentless, dark rhythm track equipped with punching 80’s drum sounds, infectious synth lines, a subsonic bassline
and futuristic piano chops. The subject matter is strictly cultural as he chants down the injustices of the Babylon system:
“you ever wonder why Babylon invaded? Churches and villages them go ram-raided.. The past is the present them try to erase it…..
Jah give me the power free the minds of the people tell them no corruption and evil…”
