Welcome to a journey into D&B’s deepest, darkest, dirtiest underbelly…
Your drivers on this mission are veteran producers Gridlok and Prolix. With pristine reputations and spotless discographies that span back to the turn of the century, the respective US/UK artists need little introduction… Both as solo artists or as a collaborative duo.
Their trip commences with ‘Membrane’, a turbo-charged rocket ride into drum & bass’s most alien landscapes. Hold on tight as we negotiate the tight, gnarly bends where an itchy scratchy lead scuffs the spectrum with infectious, growling glee. Simple yet devilishly complex, ‘Membrane’ worms its way into the mind like an audio virus, refusing to budge until dancefloor insanity ensues.

Next stop: ‘Babylon’. As the name suggests, it’s rich in sonic heritage. Bolstered with the very belly-bothering, visceral distorted bass that got many of us hooked on D&B in the first place, the main scenery on this part of the journey are the unforgiving low-end peaks that spike with Everest-level confidence. Climb their summits and you’ll spot the badland pastures of neurofunk lurking beneath. The most uncompromising stage of this two part trip… Now you’ve heard it, there’s no turning back.

Telekinesis, the collaborative force of innovative and forward-thinking Slovenian artists Smooth and Markoman, release their highly anticipated new EP "Judgement Day" on July 1, 2013.  The five-track EP will be released via Blackout, the quickly expanding brainchild label of Black Sun Empire.
Fresh off of their remixes for Black Sun Empire's "Inpeak" and "All Is Lost," and gaining momentum from their last venture "The Nightwalkers" EP (which received widespread support from the likes of Optiv, Pendulum and Ed Rush), this fiery installment is set to raise Telekinesis' profile further.  Already hailed by Crissy Cris, Excision and Amon Tobin, "Judgement Day" is a dark foray through the realms of drum and bass. From the dark bombast of the title track to the blinding fury of "Diablo," the EP is packed with heavy flow and swooping drops.

Based out of Linz, north Austria, Martin Schober is a singular protagonist at the forefront of this beguiling game we call drum & bass. He likes hip-hop, skateboarding, schnitzel, Leibniz biscuits and long walks in the sunset, but he’s most respected for how he traipses across electronic music’s wildest terrains with total boundary abandonment… And is regarded as a leading influential new-gen figure in the genre. 

From his agenda-setting halftime twist of ‘Sunday Crunk’ to his rolling, emotional collabo cameo on Camo & Krooked’s acclaimed album ‘Mosaik’. From his entrance into the Fabriclive mix hall of fame with a mix album comprising entirely of his own productions (‘Fabriclive 95’) to his Drum&BassArena Award-winning debut album ‘Emulation’, Mefjus’s signature sound has been felt across the furthest expanses of the genre since he emerged in the early 2010s. 

Now working closely with Vision - the label run by kindred studio spirits Noisia - Mefjus continues to fine-tune his musical syntax, technical dexterity, eye for detail and deft groove sensibilities. The latest chapter to savour this on-going flux of development is his second album ‘Manifest’.

Released April 2018, ‘Manifest’ is the sound of Mefjus 2.0. After several years in the studio wilderness, exploring the dark science of song structure, musicality and textural contrasts, ‘Manifest’ captures a new mindset for Mefjus. Raw, energetic, playful and subversive, ‘Manifest’ is the most personal, diverse and daring body of work to date. Not so much as reminder of why he occupies such a unique position in drum & bass but a straight-up statement of intent.
