The Thatcher effect is about a cognitive dysfunction that affects the perception we have of certain objects, more specifically faces. A little brain game that offers us a reality different from ours. On this occasion, with “Thatcher Effect EP” I wanted to show that not everything we hear is perceived in the same way. There are infinite possibilities, endless ways of understanding music, whatever genre it is. After a very difficult year, away from my true passion, I present this new 4-track EP, which tells a story, a vision of my own reality. I really wanted to go back to the studio, and I hope you find this new musical adventure exciting, created directly from the heart to your senses. For this Nano episode, HYPNOCOUSTICS has weaved together a fresh sonic tapestry of psychedelic textures, including his latest single release, 'Ocean of Stars'. Hypnocoustics is the solo Psychedelic Trance project of UK based artist Joe Studt. Originally formed in 2009, Joe has released over 70 tracks across three albums, numerous EPs and singles, and performed live to some of the biggest and best dance floors on the global Psytrance scene including bookings with Glastonbury, Boom Festival, Universo Paralello, O.Z.O.R.A, Tribe and Noisily Festival in the UK. He has also become a season fixture at the beach parties of Goa over the last ten years.

Hey everyone!

It's been a long time since I last shared a new set on my page. I've been lazy with recording for years sorry about that! 😅

But... I'm back! With a brand new set, recorded live at the mighty Origin Festival in South Africa.

Origin Festival is a beast a 21 years old mother ship of psychedelic culture.
 I’ve only felt this  kind of magic at Ozora, Boom, and Own Spirit. 
OMG It truly happened there!

Big shoutout to Regan & Monique for bringing me in, and massive thanks to the entire crew who made my stay unforgettable Hendrick, Cara, Josh, Miky Dread, and all the others (sorry if I forgot some names! :(  ).
And a very  Special praise to my friends Sam & Geof, my guides through this incredible African journey.

Nightmare on a Elm Street is one of my favorite horror films. At a young age I was inspired by artists like Fabio & Moon (Bug's Nightmare) and Si - Moon (Brain Bug - Nightmare). I like the mix of psytrance - progressive and horror films. This is how my own remix was created

Megapixel discovered electronic dance music in Western Australia where she was first introduced to psytrance in 2006. She immediately fell in love with the music and culture. She has always had a strong connection to music from a very young age playing the piano, flute and guitar so it was very natural for her to make the progression to DJing and immerse herself in this world. Megapixel played her first set in 2008 quickly becoming a dance floor favourite in Perth. She dedicated many hours developing her skills and started to hold events of her own. In 2011 she wanted to explore this further and made the move to Melbourne where she continued to grow.

Now after 17 years since her debut, Megapixel has established herself as a solid edition to any line up. She has played at some of the biggest dance floors in Australia at Rainbow Serpent Festival, Esoteric Festival, Earthcore Festival, Babylon Festival, Paradigm Festival, Earth Frequency Festival, Elements Festival, Wild Horses Festival, Dragon Dreaming Festival, just to name a few. With hard work and determination driving her forward she also gained popularity over seas playing main stage at Boom Festival in Portugal, Ozora Festival in Hungary, Sunshine Gathering in Japan, Gentenkaiki Festival in Japan, AgeHA in Japan and Dimension Festival in New Zealand.

Megapixel has become one of the most known and recognised Australian DJs in the global psytrance community. Her ability to mix her energetic style with the Japanese middle groove sound didn’t go unnoticed signing to Grasshopper Records in 2015. Preferring to keep her sets versatile she can be heard laying down funky and fun sets for the daytime, or a more serious, groovy and solid sound for the night time setting. With her passion and skill for DJing, she continues to make an impact and you can expect her floor shaking sets to take you on a captivating journey every time.
