Sparrow & Barbossa’s long-awaited debut on Madorasindahouse Records is finally here! The duo that has been making the waves in the afro scene for the past months, is collaborating with their fellow Spanish La Santa, and deliver a ready-for-the-club tune, that combines their distinct Latin-infused samples with an invigorating kick and heavy percussion.

Completing the EP, Megablast and Fka Mash deliver their own interpretations of the song, each with their own unique style. Megablast strips it down to the essentials, making a mixture of organic elements and bleeps while keeping the groove to high levels. Fka Mash on the flip, takes the pitch down and adds a resonating melodic synth with a heavy bassline, transforming the track to a slow-burning stomper, offering a different option for each taste.

”Lies“ started with a very simple but catchy Juno 60 Arpeggio Bassline, which I created around 10 years ago.

I am an 80’s child and believe that in your early years, your subconscious mind stores a lot of first impressions and emotional moments. I listened to Roxy Music at my parents’ home when I was a kid, alongside all the great pop tracks from Icehouse to New Order, which were played on the radio.

2020, when Covid started, I was locked in my studio on the island of Ibiza. I couldn’t see my little daughter, all my flights got cancelled and I had no idea when I would see her again. A few weeks later my beloved grandmother who supported me on my path with music since I was a kid passed away. I was swept up in a wave of heavy emotions and really down.

So, I decided to put all my emotions in the track I started so many years ago. I made a post on FB asking if anyone had any idea of a vocalist who could fit my expectations and I got introduced by my friend Luna Ibiza, to Steven Jones who was based in the UK.

I sent him ideas of the vocal I had in my mind. He liked it a lot and started recording and sent me the parts. Later on I got in touch with Depeche Mode’s Tour Drummer Christian Eigner, who I went to school with. He immediately liked the track and the idea, and recorded the drums for „Lies". I added some guitars with Matthias Simoner and it took quite a while to finish the whole package.

Today, I can tell that going with the flow without any stress is the best way for producing music. Many people might be surprised as it’s (maybe) untypical for what I am known for, regarding my earlier productions like „Vamos" or "Soy Como Soy", which were heavily influenced by Afro Cuban music. I don’t want to be categorized. I want to create timeless, beautiful music with no borders.

Music is a mission and not a competition.

SASCHA WEISZ, aka Megablast, has been making musical waves for some time now with his unique, eclectic take on contemporary electronic music, a very personal, genre-crossing interpretation of house, afro, Latin, dub, trippy techno, and world beats. His range and ability to enchant the dance floors with percussionists and vocalists make him one of the most impressive and distinct artists in the industry. 
Since his early career in Vienna, where he gained international attention 2006 with the album “Kunuaka” by Makossa & Megablast on Kruder & Dorfmeister’s G-Stone label and more recently from his new home base in the north of Ibiza, he has played at some of the most iconic events and venues all over the world, such as Scorpios Mykonos, Caprices Festival Crans-Montana, Ushuaia, Pablo Fierro’s “We’re Here” at Chinois (formerly Heart), Lio, Blue Marlin, Akasha, Cova Santa Ibiza, Soho Garden Dubai, Vagalume Tulum, Annabel’s London amongst many others. 
With his releases on labels like Sol Selctas, Flying Circus, Madorasindahouse, International Deejay Gigolos, !K7 and his very own Luvlite Recordings as well as having his tracks remixed by influential producers like DJ Koze, Acid Pauli, Lucia- no, Booka Shade, Jenia Tarsol, Chaim, SadoV (Red Axes), Stereo MCs and Henrik Schwarz, he clearly demonstrates his musical repertoire and unlimited love for different genres. 
“As an artist and music producer, it’s important for me to keep the freedom from any genres and not let others put me in a specific category,” he says. “Be yourself, don’t try to be someone else, and be okay with failing sometimes—these experiences make you who you are today. Focus on quality over quantity and don’t believe the hype.”

Luv Lite Recordings looks to acclaimed and eclectic production pair Weisz2 for its next outing and it comes in the form of a stunning one track single complete with remix by Innervisions associate Henrik Schwarz.
Sascha Weisz aka Megablast has been at this a long time, infusing elements of Afrobeat, techno and electronica together in his releases under various aliases such as Megablast. As Weisz2 he pairs up with his younger brother Andreas Weisz with an aim to fuse electronic production with elements of world music. Together their excellent first release "El Vagabundo" won acclaim from the likes of Giles Peterson, Rainer Trüby, Parov Stelar, Butch, Luna City Express etc and this follow up, which comes after the pair moved to Ibiza and took up a weekly radio show on Ibiza Global Radio with label mate Claudio Ricci, is just as special.
"Ko Si Eda To Mola" ft. Aladin Anyebe is a sun kissed, authentic bit of world music riddled with organic drum lines, tumbling percussive patterns and emotive vocals. Rich with flutes, brightly coloured synths and the irresistible harmonies of Aladin Anyebe, it`s the sort of track that will light up any outside or day time party.
As such it is easy to see why Henrik Schwarz fell in love with it and wanted to remix. His version flips it into a more club friendly, beat driven affair. Low swinging baselines bring a sense of modern club funk to the bulky drums, and he layers many more nebulous synths whilst retiring the original`s vocal. This one has got summer anthem written all over it.
The brothers Weisz have now served up two essential EPs on this label, and very much deserve your attention.
