The new single from Mega Emotion (all former members of Norwich art-rock/indie poppers Bearsuit). Taken from their forthcoming album 'Move Motherf*cker' - a split vinyl album with their grunge alter egos Lady Di.

Mega Emotion are the robe-wearing cult that build dense layers of sound looping both live and electronic drums against synths and scuzzy guitars.

They've won Steve Lamacq's roundtable, been playlisted across BBC 6 Music and supported the likes of Acid Mothers Temple, Shonen Knife, Yuck and Lonelady. They compare their sound to the likes of Metronomy, New Order, The Knife and Battles.

Mega Emotion are the robe-wearing cult that build dense layers of sound looping both live and electronic drums against synths and scuzzy guitars. They paint their faces and put stars through our hair, go wild swimming and perform rituals. Sometimes they dress up as jellyfish or psychedelic beekeepers. 

They’ve won Steve Lamacq’s roundtable, been playlisted across BBC 6Music and supported the likes of Acid Mothers Temple, Shonen Knife, Thumpers and Lonelady. They compare their sound to the likes of Metronomy, New Order, The Knife and Battles. 

Prime is a song about people born in prime number years. It was recorded by Magoo’s Owen Turner in the wilds of Norfolk, at Sickroom Studios.

Mega Emotion are Lisa Horton (keyboards, programming, vocals, percussion), Jan Robertson (keyboard, guitar, vocals, percussion) Iain Ross (guitar, vocals, percussion). They are all former members of Norwich art-rock/indie pop outfit Bearsuit (Fortuna Pop / Fantastic Plastic).

OK Maybe OK is the first in a series of new singles from Mega Emotion - ahead of their debut album, tentatively titled Move, Motherfucker.

The band’s self-released debut BRAINS won Steve Lamacq’s Roundtable on BBC 6 Music. Their demo material has also been play-listed as a 6 Music Recommends track of the week and they have been championed by both BBC Introducing and XFM.

The track is a howl of anguish and desperation against a slack, bouncing beat. There are walls of guitars. There are squelching basslines. There are headache-inducing drones. And there are, let us not be coy about this, cowbells.

It's almost the end of 2017. And if this year has been a soul crushing one for you, then Sick Burn is your new mantra. A mantra to pick yourself up, hug your friends, and tough out the vileness that life can throw you. 

It's been a difficult year for Mega Emotion's Jan, Lisa and Iain too. Facing illness, death and heartache, the friends (since school) turned up their instruments and wrote a slow-building hymn to friendship and optimism in a totally bleak world. 

Mega Emotion play drums and percussion over electronic beats and build walls of sound that loop dirty baselines against pumping synths and scuzzy guitars. They wear floor-length ceremonial robes, with faces dusted in glitter and stars swept through their hair.

Laura is about love, lust and dreaming of a future together. It’s about the girl at school who never really knew how you felt, about unrequited love, and still burning inside. It’s forever remembering the ghosts of a moment and the warmth of a smile.

The track was borne out the #FromMEtoYou project, where the band recorded personal tracks for the first 50 people to buy their EP tape release.
