Finally got the homies Foniks and DNZ back on the podcast. 

Listeners will recognize DNZ from the Breakdown episode were we celebrated the Breakdown event. One of the longest running hip-hop events in Tokyo. DNZ is a turntablist Dj and twitch streamer. Since then he's been streaming deejay sets and preparing for Tokyo to open back up for events. 

The last time Foniks was on was during our Jansport J episode. Foniks is an illustrator, musician and producer. He's been branching out and making more hip-hop centric beats and collaborating with some of Tokyo local emcees. 

Today we mostly caught up and talked about anything that came to mind as we haven't been in the same room for well over a year.

THE TON3Z is a collective founded by 3 creatives (Double H, BNJi, & AQua) from 3 different worlds. Double H from Japan, BNJi from Germany, AQua from America met each other during the Global Pandemic of 2020 in Tokyo. While each individual had their own reasons for being in Tokyo, it was the conditions of that time that brought these individuals together. Pressures of Lockdown & the need to find a safe place to collect themselves. It just so happened the safe space they found was in a music studio located in Double H’s basement. That time together rekindled a common passion they didn’t know they shared, music. The fusion of their different styles created abstract sonic illustrations which became their cure for the global pandemic. Now they would like to share their cure with others.

Hes a beatmaker, dj, event organizer and much more. Hes a member of the legendary Living Legends crew as well as multiple Japanese crews. He went to high school here and then moved back to Tokyo almost 27 years ago. He sat down to tell us a few of his experiences and give us a ton of information regarding his work with the Living Legends. We must said "Wow" 50 times. We also had Keen Wakeen and D Dahlinger in studio.
