Mano Le Tough - Primative People (Tale Of Us Remix)

Rumpistol is the debut album from the Danish electronica artist Rumpistol (danish for spacegun), aka Jens Berents Christiansen.

It was originally released in March 2003 in a limited edition which received great reviews in the Danish press as well as within the music audience. Due to this positive response, Rump Recordings re-released the album, in a slightly modified version, with a new cover, one new track, and a remix by Danish artist Pondul (aka Anders from Melk).

Lusine has been one of my favourite producers for a long time. I'm just going back over some of his first releases on Ghostly International from the early 00's, and it's amazing how ahead of the game he's always been. His combination of delicate productions and beautiful warm analogue melodies, intricacies and amazing shuffling grooves have been a big inspiration for me over the years, with his "A certain distance" album from 2009 being one of my all-time most listened too albums.

So Lusine was one of my ideal remixers for the album, and thanks to Sean at Decibel festival, the hookup was made and he was into the idea. He's turned out a beautiful remix of Woven Ancestry, which if you've seen me play recently, you probably heard in my set. The mix has special balance of being a great piece of music to listen to at home, but then when it's unleashed in a club it's groove takes on a whole new life which I hadn't seen coming until I tried it out - Thanks Jeff!

Grimace Federation's sonic collages create a symphonic, cinematic, and immense sound. The band’s musical foundation could be discovered in the grooves of records from post-rock legends such as Jaga Jazzist, Tortoise, and Stereolab, while latter day influences, like Mogwai and Black Sabbath, and a lifetime of collecting obscure underground hip-hop records notably seep into their symbiotic chaos. 

This is the title track from The Measure In Mixture EP, which combines spastic krautrock beats with the grandeur of an Ennio Morricone soundtrack on a Boards of Canada sonic landscape. The release also features two bass-heavy remixes from Aesop Rock, one of which he also graces with his distinguished brand of dense wordplay and dark sense of humor. Ultimately, a must-have for crate-diggers all over the world.
