 "Born and raised in Kalamazoo, Michigan- Megan Dooley has been performing regionally, nationally, and abroad for over 24 years. Her music is an intelligent blend that bridges the gaps of soul, blues, folk and americana. Drenched in modern day grit along with a generous helping of attitude, Dooley's powerful vocals, her multi-instrumentalism, and inimitable professional whistling, described as "Pure as birdsong, and expressed with great musical aplomb", have helped her define her musical prowess.
Dooley is also a multi-instrumentalist, writer, event coordinator, stage manager, open mic host, artist, activist and chef- whose singular songwriting skills have captured audiences near and far. Recently Dooley earned the 2019 title of "Best Solo Performer" in the region by popular vote and Revue Magazine, not to mention named "First Lady of Kalamazoo's Music Scene" also by Revue in 2015, as well as 9 Jammie nominations in the area. Dooley has opened for many national, international and even Grammy winning/nominated artists including: Rodriguez, Laiith Al Saadi, Billy Strings, Aimee Mann, The Toadies, and many fantastic regional performers like Joshua Davis, The Sweetwater Warblers, and The Accidentals, to name only a few. Dooley's shows are always different, always fun, and always surprising."
