Newcomer Pie Eye Collective takes the epic album closer from 2019's Sonkei by Rōnin Arkestra and gives it the most forthright remix the band have received yet. Blending house and broken beat vibes with a fluidity and naturalness that completely belies how early the producer is in his career, Tempestuous Temperaments flies through huge piano stabs and massive horn loops. This is very big music. 

Rōnin Arkestra started life with de Clive Lowe wanting to create a project with some of his favourite Japanese musicians, unaware of the sound, shape or vibe it would manifest. Reaching out to his musician friends including Sauce81, they began recording at Red Bull Studio in Tokyo and the chemistry was instant, creating an impulsive sound that blended spiritual jazz and beat sensibilities heavy on the improvisation. 

“That’s the beauty of this collective - everyone is so great at what they do, playing to the music rather than their own egos and so open to the moment. That’s the heart of the ‘jazz’ in Ronin Arkestra - being wide open to the moment and letting the music happen as it wants to.” says de Clive-Lowe.

mCurtis a.k.a Emanouil Kourtikakis returns alongside with Himuro Yoshiteru, forming a new frenzy Sound project.
After a year of full music composition and sound generation by both artists, it is high time to present their first electronic music exploration.   
The  design of the sounds were on their analogue synthesizers and equipment, while the beats were sampled from classic hip hop sounds. Thus, you will find also a notably new degree of improvisational depth. 
The artists themselves call it as  a “story stemming from our neuron structure which creates a feeling in a moment of high intensive human interaction. A feeling that repels the entropy”. 
By now, it’s known that mCurtis had his master degree in Computer science and an extra specialization in pedagogy/education by using the latest programming tools. The music has always bug biting him to combine music with a scientific background while expressing himself. His curiosity for science and technology with the vast sonic and expressive potential of electronic music lead him the past decade to his productions.
Himuro Yoshiteru style is often described in the media as very playful. It consists of finely chopped, fast rhythms in combination with jazzy bass and synthesizer lines and 8bit sounds (like video game music). In this area he is one of the prominent Japanese musicians of this time.
Some of his pieces have been featured on John Peel´s Radio show on BBC Radio 1 and one was later released as an mp3 on the Tribute to John Peel Series, as a free download.

Synopsis:
During the darkest hours of the night, while the rest of the world is sleeping, outdoor photographer Paul Zizka ventures out into the wilderness in search of the world’s starriest skies. His journey to photograph the celestial wonders takes him from his home amongst the peaks of the Canadian Rockies to the wild, desert dunes of Namibia and remote ice caps of Greenland. Ever the adventurer, he must balance his work and passion for photography with his equal devotion as a family man. In the Starlight is an intimate portrayal of Paul’s quest to capture the night skies, and what his time spent under the stars has taught him about life, love, adventure, and our place in the universe.

Bathurst is pleased to announce the return of The Motion Orchestra with their new single Sonorous taken from their forthcoming
album All One set for release in 2020.
Formed in 2017, this studio project consists of Alexander Bednasch on Double-Bass, Mark Matthes on Violins, Andy Sells on Drums and David Hanke on electronics and production. Though influenced heavily by Neo-Classical and Jazz sensibilities they occupy a musical space that sits in neither sphere, with a compositional style that deftly fuses the orchestral and electronic worlds.
Their debut single – All One was a gorgeous piece inspired by the notion that everything comes from the same source, the same
starting point. And it was well received, garnering support from BBC 6Music and Bandcamp Weekly.
Second single Sonorous is just as elegant as their first offering and looks set to continue the upward trajectory the band are currently on. Starting with a repeated electronic motif, it incorporates piano chord harmonics, tasteful bass notes, and swirling jazz drum patterns that interplay wonderfully with beautiful string arrangements, altogether creating a truly captivating character.
The release is comprised of both the original version as well as a the arrangement without the drums.

In 1995/96, rap icon Ice Cube ignited a feud with rising talent Common Sense from Chicago. Though the situation was short-lived, it made a lasting impact, and the story has been told many times over, but in nearly all of those stories, a perhaps trivial, but notable factor has been left out, the smart part I played in that story. 

The art for this episode is from the cover of Caught In The Middle Magazine, of which I was the Co-Owner, alongside Jason "J-Bird" Cook. This was the first issue of the magazine and also Common's first time being on a magazine cover, and was released in December of 1994. Designed by Boom Design!
