Put headphones on properly to let the vibrations guide this sense-experience of the the waterline. Reach through the ears into opening underwater spaces. Feel vibrations push back on sound senses. Imagine sensed these vibrations across your skin. Know that you are listening to diffractive patterns you cannot perceive.

Sonic Sense Palette: hydro vibrations, snapping shrimp, sine waves, shore waves, communities, ecotone sounds, tech water distortions.

Sense Palette: Waterline (Vibrations)

an ecopoetics of sonic sensing that has been gathered through a forest of practitioners (marine biologists, educators, artists, decolonial storytellers) who submerge themselves to listen with kelp. This listening beyond hearing critically attunes past the edges of knowability and into a relational encounter that interfaces yearning and release, yet is often difficult to word when back on land again.

Swaying In Unknowability

Interlude of Intrusions, is an affective sonic archive of mothering alongside the ruptures, sinkholes and rhythms of converging temporalities whilst building a scholarly and artistic practice three months postpartum. This composition was made the panel discussion Traces We Leave Upon the Earth, part of the Woman's Work in Artistic Practice project by Bev Butkow at Origins Center, University of the Witwatersrand, South Africa.
