Am 28. Februar 2014 erscheint die Debüt EP von Foresta auf Soundcloud und Bandcamp zum kostenlosen Download! Seit dem "Youth Riddim" arbeitet Foresta an eigenen Produktionen, die stellenweise schon auf Alben unterschiedlicher Künstler erschienen sind, hier gibt es jetzt sechs exklusive Songs, die euch einen Einblick in sein musikalisches Schaffen geben. Foresta ist das "jüngste Pferd" im Urban Tree Music Stall und hat sich, neben zahlreichen anderen Aktivitäten rund um Urban Tree, in den letzten vier Monaten in seinem Studio eingeschlossen, um diese EP fertig zu produzieren. Natürlich warten noch zahlreiche Videos und kleine Aktionen zu den Songs darauf abgeschlossen zu werden… Wir halten euch wie immer auf Facebook auf dem Laufenden!

Zu hören gibt es Hiphop und Beats im breitesten Gewand zwischen Soul, Jazz, Reggae, Dub und Popmusik. Mit an Bord hat er zahlreiche Namen aus eben genau diesen Genres, die in den letzten zwei Jahren seinen Weg gekreuzt oder den Weg in sein kleines Homestudio gefunden haben. Mit Kabaka Pyramid und Protoje hat er zwei der aktuell erfolgreichsten und vielversprechendsten jamaikanischen Reggaeartists an Bord; Berge gehören zum besten was die Berliner und deutsche Popszene zu bieten hat; Forestas Labelkollege Simon Grohé arbeitet gerade selbst am Release seines Urban Tree Debüts "Mamaoerf", Danny Ranks und Longfingah gehören seit Jahrzehnten zum deutschen und österreichischen Reggae- und Dancehall Underground und haben sich weit darüber hinaus ihre Fanbase vor den kleinen und großen Bühnen Europas ersungen; mit Benjie hat er einen Veteranen der deutschen Reggae- und Dancehallszene und weiteren Labelkollegen von Urban Tree mit im Schiff und Jaqee, die bei den Freunden von Rootdown Records ihre Musik veröffentlicht, verbreitet ihre wunderbare Musik jedes Jahr von Dänemark, über Deutschland, bis nach Frankreich und Uganda.

The Brooklyn Gypsies are a group of NYC based musicians/ producers whose creative influences draw from the constant shifting of an ever changing urban sociopolitical landscape while retaining their unique cultural backgrounds through what has come to be recognized as “Gypsy” music.

Originating from Spain, Japan, Russia, Italy & U.S.A. BK Gypsies truly represents Brooklyn’s diverse ethnic heritage and style.  The gypsies came to be in 2012 within Williamsburg Brooklyn’s  Studio BPM music scene.   Members include: Carmen Estevez, Takuya Nakamura, Tina Kristina, Brandon Lewis, Troy "Mobius" Simms & Zeb "The Spy From Cairo".  After a number of collaborative projects between the artist were explored the opportunity to form a band that incorporated elements from each project arose. The groups sound is an infusion of Mediterranean, North African, Arabic Themes with Electronic, Dancehall and Dub Reggae. The term "Gypsy" was incorporated into the band name representing the nomadic spirit & way of life within this musical journey.

Quatro anos após a estréia de seu primeiro CD "Pecadinho", Marcia Castro lança novo álbum chamado "De Pés no Chão" que reforça sua personalidade marcada pela força de sua voz e a elegância e sagacidade de repertório.

A nova obra, que conta com apoio do Programa Natura Musical, é fruto de grande pesquisa realizada pela cantora baiana no cancioneiro nacional, procurando músicas que tivessem uma leitura contemporânea. Dessa garimpagem, várias pérolas surgiram, como a interpretação
de “Catedral do Inferno” de Carlota e Herminio Bello , “Você Gosta”de Tom Zé e Hermes de
Aquino, “Crazy Pop Rock” de Gilberto Gil e Jorge Mautner ou ainda a faixa-título de Rita Lee.

Marcia reverencia os Novos Baianos em dois momentos: com a música “29 Beijos” (Moraes/Galvão), que é uma faixa de fase roqueira do grupo em 1971 recriado por ela num híbrido de samba e tango em dueto com Helio Flanders (Vanguart) e em o megaclássico “Preta Pretinha” atravessado por espirais de trumpete da mesma dupla autoral e já incrustado no disco da virada do grupo, “Acabou Chorare” (1972). Ele vem associado ao samba duro “Gererê” do grupo Terra Samba.

Em De Pés no Chão também há autores contemporâneos. Marcia fez uma versão para “História de Fogo” de Otto e canta a inédita 
'Lougradouro” de Kleber Albuquerque. O CD é uma produção da cantora em parceria com os músicos Guilherme Kastrup e Rovilson Pascoal e tem distribuição da produtora Deck.
