trading tall tales with my demons, squint to see them through the haze

It's kept me thinking twice- taking the advice of voices in the distance, unaware of what the problem is
I've been playing nice
And I've been picking fights with myself in the mirror and singing songs of praise cuz every time I win

What I mind's the moments frozen, the mistakes made and etched in stone

The sun creeps through the yard
I'm letting down my guard, the rhetoric I had rehearsed comes out in bursts when I get scared

Kumail is a musician, producer, performing artist Mumbai, India. Over the last four years, he has ascended to the very top of India’s burgeoning culture of electronic music on two parallel paths - as a gifted musician and bandleader drawing expansive canvases of rhythm, texture and emotion, and as a roughneck DJ notorious for breaking ankles. Having started off plunging deep into lo-fi ambient electronica, Those paths have led him to a DJ set at Dimensions Festival 2018 in Croatia, a string of several live festival dates across India, and extensive touring across the country. In the past, he has shared the stage with the likes of Shigeto, Four Tet, DJ Koze, Teebs, Ratatat, Mount Kimbie and Kutmah, and been featured on Boiler Room, Sofar Sounds and COLORS.

‘Same Shit’, featuring critically acclaimed Los Angeles singer and rapper Pink Siifu, marks a major shift in Kumail’s trajectory as an artist. The lead single off his forthcoming album ‘Yasmin’, (on Brooklyn’s Bastard Jazz Recordings) marks a significant departure from the lo-fi meditative electronica of his early online mixtapes towards R&B and soul-drenched palettes that could only come from the West Coast - in this case from both the United States and India. The cross-continent collaboration cements Kumail’s bid for a place in the vanguard of modern neo-soul and hip-hop from around the world. A sign of more of hook-driven slow-jams to come from ‘Yasmin’, projected to release winter 2019.

A nomadic storyteller at heart, she has played many US / North American tours including Vans Warped Tour dates in support of her full length record Nothin' Left To Lose (Blacktop Records). She founded The City & The Heart in 2013, an organization dedicated to providing a supportive community for unsigned female artists in NYC. She has produced and released 3 studio albums. Meghann has been writing, singing, playing bass, guitar, sax, and performing live for 10 years. Born in CA, raised in HI, educated in NH, and has been in bands in MA, NH, and NYC. With a diverse background ranging from soul and blues to folk, Americana and indie pop, she employs whatever style she feels is most effective in delivering her musical message. Her lyrics are simple, straightforward, and from the heart, always inspired by her own experiences as a hard-working young woman and the people who have touched her life. On this SoundCloud site can be found her original demos which she records at home alone in her Brooklyn apartment, collaborations with other NYC artists, and recordings from previous musical projects. She has worked with such producers as Grammy Award-winning Aaron Levinson, Tim Gilles (Thursday), ( and Anthony "Rocky" Gallo (John Legend),  and has written with Zac Maloy (Carrie Underwood) and Mike Campbell (A Great Big World, Daya).
