Flowerpowder are Boudewijn Zeldenthuis (17) and Gerolf Naaktgeboren (15) from the small Dutch town of Nijmegen (The Netherlands). Fleeing the rural monotony and boredom of Nijmegen at a very early age to travel to Eindhoven, they first met their idols at legendary 1990s clubs like "De Feijnster", "Sytstem X" or "Paradisco".
First sonic experiments soon resulted in notable releases and high profile bookings in reputable clubs all around the globe. Heavily influenced by their first long-distance flight to Trinidad and Tobago in the incredibly hot summer of 2005, both producers started to reconcile their beneluxian musical preferences with a pinch of afro-base and zambo-rave. In their comeback release "Sprizztour EP" Flowerpowder are reinventing the idea of transparent aestival dance music with an irresistible groovy drive while staying rigorously faithful to their roots in Dutch ambient trance techno. Although their ascent to the very top of the global EDM elite does not seem to ever slow down, Boudewijn and Gerolf have managed to stay grounded and never refuse to have - as they say - "a dutchi with the brudis".

The Art Of Complaining

Mīmāṃsā is a Sanskrit word that means "reflection" or "critical investigation" and thus refers to a tradition of brahminical thought which reflected on the meanings of certain Vedic texts.

This tradition is also known as Pūrva-Mīmāṃsā because of its focus on the earlier (pūrva) Vedic texts dealing with ritual actions, and similarly as Karma-Mīmāṃsā due to its focus on ritual action (karma)[3]. It is one of six Vedic "affirming" (āstika) schools of Hinduism.

This particular school is known for its philosophical theories on the nature of dharma, based on hermeneutics of the Vedas, especially the Brāḥmanas and Saṃhitas.

The Mīmāṃsā school was foundational and influential for the vedāntic schools, which were also known as Uttara-Mīmāṃsā for their focus on the "later" (uttara) portions of the Vedas, the Upaniṣads. While both "earlier" and "later" Mīmāṃsā investigate the aim of human action, they do so with different attitudes towards the necessity of ritual praxis

Glenn Shaw - Roots

For the past ten years now, I’ve celebrated my birthdays by inviting all my favorite cats to play – we started off at Kater Holzig before moving to our home at Kater Blau in 2015. For the first time since it started, and for obvious reasons, 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch won’t be happening, on what would have been the tenth anniversary of the series.

I’ve been wondering for a while now how I can make up for the missed year - streams already feel a bit outdated, and you just can’t imagine the vibe of the event without actually being there, getting beautifully lost in those days and nights, hugging old friends and making new ones. You can’t even explain that feeling, so you definitely can’t live-stream it.
Instead, this year 43 Katzen tanzen auf’m Tisch will be a compilation of some of the amazing artists from the past ten years, and even some of the new faces I would have booked this year. In a way, it’s the perfect souvenir of all the nights we’ve had so far, and an idea of what to look forward to in all the nights to come at Kater Blau somewhere in the future.

The compilation will be split into two sections: Heinz Hopper and Acidbogen, reflecting the two floors of Kater Blau, each with their own special flavor and sound. The whole record is programmed the way I would schedule the artists across the two floors for my birthday, warming up at the start before things start getting more intense later on. I guess you could say it’s a concept album, in which the audience wanders into our lovely little circus on the river Spree, and experiences one of my birthdays from start to finish, split across both floors of Kater Blau.

Much like my parties and my sets, the idea is for the listener to get lost in these tracks and to experience them as a whole piece. At the end of it all you leave with a feeling that maybe, just maybe, cats & music were the answers after all. Even in times like these.
