the original 'Just Burn' actually started off as an unofficial remix I wrote to 'Toxin' by Fytch & Rezz. Since my former manager & I couldn't get ahold of mau5trap (the label it was released on) in attempt to make it official, I decided to twist it into an original & was lucky enough to team up with Alter. on it. I love both of his verses to death & this VIP was born out of his phenomenal work more than anything. Since I wrote both drops of the original before the vocals were written, I wanted to write a new version in attempt to more accurately expand on the energy that Alter. captured and display the inspiration I received from him.

The majority of the inspiration for this EP was focused and intertwined with my struggles to find happiness and reflects deeply on my fears and depression. Since I was young, music has been extremely therapeutic to me and felt like the only true light in a very dark world. Linkin Park was my greatest source of inspiration and helped me forge motivation and passion out of my depression. Their emotionally charged writing & productions contrasted their vulnerable & enlightening lyrics in a god-like fashion and have been deeply rooted in my soul. My own writing is simply a form of therapy for myself, it helps me see the beauty in life even if it's only for a short moment. I only hope that my music brings motivation & inspiration for others and can help lead them out of their own darkness🖤

I feel extremely lucky to have linked up with Nicole, her voice is angelic & I love how emotionally rich & brilliant her writing is. The Melody of Yours Fears originated as an idea that Nicole wrote and sent me a recording of her playing the guitar while singing. This draft recording felt so raw and divinely executed, it immediately formed a deep connection in me and inspired a heavy emotional release that I felt had been restrained for too long. Hollow is one of those very few gems of an artist who I truly look forward to seeing what beautiful & insanely mental compositions he will create. I first found his remix of '3am', which blew me away...the intense, raw burst of emotion in his drop pulls me in every single time I listen. In the past year he really drew me in further with his releases; 'Voices', 'Seeing Colour', 'Wasting Away', and ofc 'Medulla'. Metal influenced vocals with dark melodic electronic productions are rare to come by, let alone to be executed in a creatively brilliant way, which is why I'm such a huge fan of his work. One of his unreleased tracks (not sure if I should be saying the title so I won't), is the absolute best track I've heard in the last year. check him out if you're looking for some new inspiration to live🖤🌨️ @hollownotempty
