After roughly 16 months finally a new DJ mix. Inspired by the recent set at Heideglühen Berlin. All featured music was played at the club during the >3hr set. Upon re-recording I once more realised how rare it has become to be able to play such a set and how grateful and humble such great music leaves you.

Full Circle

This is the second time I've spent my birthday weekend playing a set at Heideglühen, and I don't think I could spend the very beginning of my 30s in a better place. I'm so happy and grateful to have this amazing opportunity to play at my favourite club in the world, a club that feels like home, where I'm loved and appreciated. 

This is a re-recorded set inspired by the music I played at Heide on the 2nd of November, it’s not a recording from a club.

Claptone's biography describes him thus :"In a now long forgotten world, many generations ago, a bird like shape emerged from wooded dark- ness, floating and fluttering, drifting and dreaming. A couple of months ago, when we heard that we were going to get to mix our first Essential Mix, we had absolutely no idea what we were going to do. It's a very big deal for us to do this mix. We decided to use a lot of old records and tracks that we really liked when we first started playing together in our hometown in Poland. That's why, for example, we asked Jacek Sienkiewicz to send us 'Dream Machine' and also why we included Michael Mayer 'Speaker'.
There is a lot of old vinyl that we included especially for our Essential Mix. Harry Kane, T-RWKR, Arto Mwambe, Needs, Terry Brooks and one of our all time favourite records from Alex Cortex that we even edited specially. We really have to thank Axel Boman for introducing us to Bassroots 'Good Life' and Marcin Czubala because we discovered Sofrito Specials through him.
There is something from our label Pets Recordings, that our friend Nikola Baytala from San Francisco will put out at the end of May. It will be his first EP for many years and this track is probably one of the most trippy things we've ever released. That's why we love it so much! There are a lot of tracks in the mix that have their own story but, for now, we're gonna let the music speak for itself'. Catz 'n Dogz, April 2013.
