Growing up in the deep south of Germany with multi ethnic friends and big interest in many different music genres of the world, Borrowed Identity built his wide knowledge in music. This variety in his musical taste is also the reason why he is working under different aliases producing a big variety of sound from ambient to house to experimental music and everything inbetween. Borrowed Identity debut EP on Quintessentials is another great example for his multistyle approach to music. You’ll find elements of house, disco, techno, ambient and more – always with an imminent love for music. Borrowed Identity released his first 12” inc. a Mark E remix on Foul&Sunk last year. That was just the start of an impressive career we dare to say. Borrowed Identity is a music freak and works very fast on tracks. Guy Gerber's Supplement Facts, Traveller Records (Finland), the Legendary Sound Research, Stripped & Chewed (Chicago), Catz N Dogz Pets Recordings and soon Mistress all released some splendid Borrowed Identity tunes. Hot off a now sold-out 7" maiden voyage straight from Germany’s Black Forest, Kibbi Gibbon swung back around to the Star Creature HQ with an album’s worth of likeminded galactic relaxation techniques. U.F.O. out of gas? Their debut LP's seven slabs of DX 7, Prophet 8 and Fender-fuelled space funk instrumentals landed somewhere in between an Ibizan beachfront and a Mario Kart character selection screen, but can also be found here, beamed to you with determination and care. Limited to 300 copies so don't sleep.
Kibbi Gibbon is a studio project created deep within Germany's Black Forrest with a goal of producing chill Balearic-esque, spaced-out jazz-funk, synth-boogie hybrid tunes. The main producer and instrumentalist is Georgy Whistler, a known figure in the head-nod underground Deutschlandic hip hop scene. Over the past 10 years, Whistler has produced and recorded albums with wide range of European collaborators lending his trademark downtempo touch to many records. Whistler taps up DJ associate La Bananasenza and saxophonist Marco Podobnik to round out the studio band. 
Though much of what’s hitting the global scene out of Germany these days favours the trending sounds of Berlin, Kibbi’s music is quite the opposite – both in sound and locale – hailing from the opposite side of the country; Freiburg Im Breisgau, the furthest domestic city from the techno Mecca. Despite being landlocked smack dab in the middle of Europe, this fresh new outfit promises to deliver us a Balearic breath of fresh air that fits perfectly within the Star Creature contemplative instrumental funk scene. Perfect vibes for the Italian or Portuguese Coasts, late night soirees in San Sebastian or moonlit soundscapes at Falassarna Beach

Shoreline is a groovy dance-track inspired by jazz and funk. Quite satisfied with the flow and feel. It features one of my favourite sounds, the rhodes piano, accompanied with a funky bass line and some field recordings from a nearby beach. Hope you like it!

PREMIERE: Salary Boy - Mistakes [Shadow City Records]

Lyon beatsmith Saint Paul made an impressive full debut in 2017 with his Introspection EP on Moonrise Hill Material (which he co-runs with his boys Folamour, Ethyène and Kaffe Crème). After tasty contributions to V/As on the likes of Apparel Wax and FHUO, the Frenchman is back with another solo record on DC’s Better Listen Records.

The Naturist Behavior EP is a tastefully balanced, warm-weather oriented four tracker. The title track and the A2, “A Hawaiian Trip”, explore playful and jazzy territories. Meanwhile, the flip hosts moodier ventures via the bittersweet boogie of “Tell Me” and the ice cold late night jam, “Feels Good”.

Live Ones returns with a belting new 12’’ EP featuring five deep and sultry tracks from five artists hailing from four different countries. Windows (formally DJ Windows XP) kicks things off with their familiar dusty and melancholic drive, pulling all the right heartstrings on ‘I Wanted To Share My Feelings But You Kept Talking’. Label owner Lorca’s ‘Sirens’ follows this on a similar, ravey vibe with stomping kicks, breaks, breast-beating string samples and bleeps.

The flip side sees the talented and experienced Intr0beatz in amazing form utilizing rich, orchestral strings and his signature house grooves to produce the infectious ‘For The Love’. Keith Lorraine (also known as Baby Rollen) of London is up next with the emotionally rich ‘Wild Flower’. The track builds nicely into the final cut ‘Dreams’ from Canada’s Mathew Ferness. Here we see the artist at his best, using looping vocals and piano stabs to great effect, completing an EP that will work just as well in your headphones as it will on the dancefloor.

A Life dedicated to music. Beautifully talented Melchior Sultana, Born in Malta, Is a composer and multi instrumentalist. Growing up in an atmosphere of rich traditions, culture and arts in the middle of the Mediterranean can deeply sculpt a spirit. Melchior Sultana represents music as an art with no boundaries.

Everything started by understanding the various forms of sound. This interest in "sounds" gradually led to experience, study, knowledge and to an ongoing evolution of an artist. His experiences and knowledge through out his musical career led to the believe that music is a form of art that needs to remain pure. this means that music and art in general should reflect one's true inner voice and artistic execution and not be infected by non-artistic entities. This philosophy was carried out and is being practiced through out his music.

As a multi instrumentalist playing Guitar, Piano and Bass, Melchior Sultana is involved in various projects from classical to contemporary to Live band and electronic music productions. Melchior Sultana performed live at some of the most prestigious places from Cafe Del Mar in Malta to Panorama Bar, Berghain, IPSE in Berlin, Tresor and Rex Club Paris. Previous works show the wide musical vocabulary of this artist and his open mentality approach to music.
