We've been excitedly waiting to release KAVARI's debut EP, ’if the benign was to ever be so pure’. The EP is an amalgamation of her sonic palate. Based around the concept of idealistic desires being tarnished by their real-life manifestations. This project is a catharsis rendered through warped club beats and delicate ambience. 

From Liverpool, but currently based in Aberdeen, KAVARI’s music, art, and performances interrupt the senses with high energy syncopated rhythms, brutalist percussion, and intensity. All while her intoxicating melodies lull you back into serenity.

Five tracks of sound design heavy, experimental, thoughtful production techniques - to make you think, move, feel.

KAVARI - if the benign was to ever be so pure EP (PREVIEWS)

The 14th release of katharsis is the debut EP “Pace / Silence” by Danish artist ELCA. The release is truly a personal piece to the artist, as it intends to translate, conceptualize and visualize the physical and psychological experiences of living with heart disease. Throughout the five tracks of the EP, ELCA explores an array of themes and symptoms related to his illness through distorted pads, stuttering synthesizers and heavily manipulated drums.

On “Pace / Silence” the artist seeks to express the difficult feelings attached to illness in our society, recognize others in similar situations and fight the stigma attached to it. Starting the EP out solidly, the track “Defibrillation” is a manifestation of ELCA’s first heart attack and the following electrical shocks he experienced from his ICD. Following this comes “Arrhythmia” portraying the inner battle between the heart and the defibrillator and their struggle to find a common tempo.

On “Bradycardia / Pacemakers”, ELCA firstly depicts the symptom of having a much too low pulse and later the stabilization of the pulse by the pacemaker. Thereafter comes the track “Tachycardia”, oppositely depicting the symptom of having a much too high pulse and the following fears of fainting and potential heart stop. Lastly, the artist shows how on “Composure” that the worst symptoms have ameliorated through the right medical care and how making music has given him release of some of the difficult experiences he had in the intense care.

Forever is in multiplicity and mutation. Musician and visual artist Nicola Tirabasso (VISIO), together with Haunter founders Daniele Guerrini and Francesco Birsa Alessandri called for a collective effort in order to celebrate these elements of experience. In opposition to linear notions of time itself. An attempt to let perceptions of future and past bleed together, to establish every moment as an infinite process of consumption and re-generation. A compilation of 33 artists, each contributing in their own peculiar style, adding their own blends to the palette and exposing the lineage of their work. It is precisely to state that the perennial immanence of difference is what constitutes the basis for true unity, that the curators have grouped an utterly diverse cast of contributors, whose output strikes a vastity of moods and textures, and grows out of very distinct intentionalities and backgrounds. Making kin without borders, letting mutual support evolve into a chimeric infinity.
