Melleefresh and dj genderfluid return for some sweet, sexy Europop action in their cover of late 90s dancefloor classic Better Off Alone.

"I was inspired to reconstruct this classic as a part of my Eurodance experiments," explains producer dj genderfluid. "With Melleefresh as a vocalist, it became the perfect sequel to my remix of Bitches 'n' Whores."

While staying as true to the iconic original as possible, Mellee and genderfluid still make it their own, walking the line between Eurodance and trance.

"When we tested the mix on my car stereo, it was 3 in the morning, no traffic," remembers Melleefresh. "We jumped out of the car and started dancing in the middle of the street, in the snow!"

Where house meets the holidays, our annual Xmaslicious compilation delivers 3 new ho-ho-hopping Christmas songs from Melleefresh and friends.

Kicking off your twelve days of Christmas is Have a Very Sexy Christmas, an animated hard house collaboration with dj genderfluid, Hot on its heels is Melleefresh’s house remix of Princess Superstar’s tongue-in-cheek Xmas Swagger. Then Kardano delivers his lush remix of Mellee’s 2017 single Candy Cane.

Melleefresh has been an avant-garde performer and producer in the Canadian arts scene for nearly 30 years. She is currently the President of @PlayRecords (US/UK).

Among the many artists with whom Melleefresh has collaborated through Play Records are Dirty 30 aka Alixander lll, Billy Newton-Davis, Calvertron, Hoxton Whores, 40oz Profits, Gettoblaster, Jerome Robbins, MC Flipside, Boy Pussy and SpekrFreks.

In 2004, Melleefresh was looking for artists to remix a Carole Pope album and was introduced to a young DJ from Niagara Falls using the moniker deadmau5. Signing him to Play Records, Melleefresh and deadmau5 collaborated on many tracks in the label's repertoire, including the 2008 Juno Award-nominated After Hours.

Most recently, Melleefresh opened Play Deep with Zach Brown-Smith (DJ Spydabrown). Located in London's posh King's Cross neighbourhood, Play Deep is a 3-storey, 3-room state-of-the-art recording studio that has served as a recording venue for The Spice Girls, the Duchess of York Sarah Ferguson, Ellie Goulding, Rita Ora, Wretch 32, Giggs, Emeli Sande, Canada's Keiza, DJ Jazzy Jeff, and Popcaan, among others.
