Really cool to be able to collab with Wandr, as I have really been enjoying his music. I learned a lot on this project and am so happy with how our styles blended and we pushed some experimentation with this song. And so, my baby song "Guardian Angel" became Steal Me Away.

Sentry

Anna and I decided a couple of months ago to team up and do a vocal song together, which was completely new for us both. After we started and tabled another song, she presented me with this song and melody and so I wrote some lyrics. We went on quite the journey together with this song! After lots of learning and some feedback- here is our result!

Though simple, I hope the lyrics are thought provoking. They were inspired by my Christian faith. This song is full of many symbolic elements with the goal that they convey ideas of trust, faith, and the supernatural. I wanted to explore the idea of seeing something that perhaps others can not see, but is very real; and the imagery of access to another dimension independent of our own. 

A huge thank you to Anna for asking me to go on this adventure of learning with her! We have become very good friends and this was so much fun. She is a very talented artist and has been so encouraging and patient. I hope everyone will take some time to check out her other songs! Thank you Anna, for helping me get my feet wet and do something new! You are awesome. Also, thanks to all of my friends that have been so supportive.

My inspiration for the lyrics for this song, as usual, come from my Christian faith, and I wanted to focus on heaven in this one. It became personal for me, the meaning of it, as the lyrics reflect on waiting to see someone on the other side. Is it a loved one? Your theophany? The Saviour? I tried to leave that open to the listener. I hope you enjoy the lovely soundscape and indeed fly away into a peaceful and contemplative state while listening!

My very first song as a producer! There will always be that first song, and Shadow Falls is mine. I hope y'all enjoy!

I decided on the name Shadow Falls since the choruses in this song are a little darker, heavier, and different than the open and "pretty" verses. Even in the shadows, light is present; shadows can and will fall in times in our lives, but they lighten, you don't live there forever, and it is lovely when you step out into the sun. 

Huge thanks to all of my friends that offered feedback and gave some tips and advice. I have a lot to learn and I am excited to make more and use all that I have learned and build upon this experience!

Shadow Falls

Here is my first full vocal full production! This project originally started many months ago as simple starting vocals to a fledgling song with my friend Anna B May. We decided to make a different song instead as so my lyrics sat for a while. I decided to pick them back up and make and finish a song with them. 

This Star is an inner dialogue about finding your position in and out of this world and the relationship with the Light of Life, Jesus Christ, when we come to the revelation that His Light wants to live in us. I thank God for that revelation in my life.

When I first heard this song I thought of beauty and creation and had decided to write lyrics along those lines; then I realized he had titled his work in progress "Painted Sky" and thought, perfect! This song was born out of an idea while talking with a friend about chill trance and blending genres. It begins slow, with some feelings of anxiety and then surprises with a little lift and celebration.

The waiting will one day end when we journey to meet our Lord and saints in the air and eventually venture beyond the curtain of time. Oh what a day of rejoicing that will be.

Swing Low Sweet Chariot was an American gospel song first recorded in 1909, but written in the late 1800s by a man named Wallace Willis. This song is special to me because my mother used to sing it to me when I was a little girl.

This reimagined cover is very different from the hymn and gospel roots, and I hope that it is a nice, pleasing chillout version for you all <3.
