Newcomer Spectrum is back with his 2nd EP for Omni Music. This time he changes his style to the deep futuristic atmospheric vibes, perfect for 23rd Century flights through the cosmos. The title track starts the EP with technoid beats, detroit-esque bass, celestial strings and twinkling keys. The Truth Beneath takes the listener deeper into the cosmos with hypnotic beats, bass and stellar synths that build as the beauty progresses. Fugitive envelopes the listener with more space-age synths and galactic keys as it gently rolls the beats over them as Spectrum leaves the solar system. He saves the best for last with Always and Forever, a vibrant flow of bouncing beats, dynamic keys, blissful pads and gentle harmonics. Watch this space for Spectrum's debut LP coming very soon.

This style is dear to me: slapping, banging, bassy hiphoppy instrumentals.
You might not believe that this is the music of someone who spent 20 first years of his life (in the 90s) in a little countryside town in the middle of nowhere.
However, music was always something that kept me sane there, and back then, mid-90s, I was already listening to De La Soul, Cypress Hill, Soul Assassins, Coolio, Skee-Lo, all kinds of trip hop and so on.
While my jungle and DNB has had much more limelight, this type of music has never left me.
Moreover, it’s become increasingly important to me as I’ve been aging.
I’ve found myself enjoying the slower beats much more than ever.

Some of the songs have more of an actual song structure, while some others are more “loopy” – it’s essential for me to create both. I’m actually working on my first-ever release with a rapper, and that EP shall surface next year.

But for now, I hope you like Sample Dumpster Diving.

Intro) Once dim, now lit. It's them, not this. What's vague, now known. The clear ink now shown.

Verse1) Back of a drawer, as bright as before we ever found out the daylight always brings more. Lost landscape inside, a glass garden remains. A sensation swimming up to surface though it already sank.

Pre-chorus) The current somehow is too late, but the movement of tomorrow remains. It never is too late for the shedding of the sorrows we make.

Chorus) Once dim, now lit. It's them, not this blanket of blank bliss. In pure light we persist. What's vague now known. The clear ink now shown, the darkness we've outgrown. In the pure light it can't exist.

Verse2) Free to explore, yet entangled ever-more. Will we ever find where the shine forever pours? Cast heartache aside, the spirit can't be contained. A swift realization that beyond this curtain is a heart with no cage.

Pre-chorus2) The moment fading won't wait. For the movement of nightfall remains. The current may fluctuate, though the pull of uncertainty is the same.

Bridge Outro) We can't lt this become "not allowed". This is no matter to ignore. The ill-fact phase we must phase out because in silence we only create more. So we transmit more noise because the stream's not our voice, though we swim it to stay....fully conscious and poised for the sun to rejoin this lacking love with it's rays.

This EP is a collection of the final recordings by Daydreams On Microfilm. The tracks range from instrumental demos, to complete tracks with vocals.

"Actively Dormant EP" is our final farewell to this collaborative project, as we shift our focus back to our solo endeavors. Thanks to everyone who has listened to our music, followed us, and supported our musical explorations.
