About this journey:
" 20 years ago I mixed vinyl records for the first time. The process instantly captivated me and I bought turntables and started building my first vinyl collection.  It was an exciting journey ahead of me. Over time my preferences were changing, one style was replacing another, but one thing has always remained the same... whether I'm writing music or making a compilation, for me my interaction with music has always been accompanied by magical surprises that defy any logical explanation. Today I will give you an example of one such surprise. When I was buying new records, I was always focusing on one or more tracks that I liked, and there were usually tracks that I didn't find interesting enough for me. But. A few years would pass, and when compiling the next set I would accidentally stumble upon these very uninteresting tracks and realize with amazement that they now perfectly match my current preferences and are also perfect for a new compilation =). Music is an incredible mystery. At one time, having made a choice in my life in the direction of greater contact with this mystery I was convinced of it definitively. I invite you to come along with me on this lyrical journey, which is entirely composed of just such tracks ;) "

Moscow's Denis Leonovich has racked up releases on labels such as Claremont 56 and Higher Love over the past 10 years or so, and can count the likes of Max Essa and Justin Robertson as fans. Here he comes to eclectics with three new tracks in four mixes: 'Turtle's Sunglasses' starts out as a squelchy, drifty Balearic affair before begin given an outstanding dub makeover, 'From The Depths' is an atmospheric slo-mo acid chugger, while finally 'Step Forward' is a jerky, stuttering, wonked-out affair that'll suit those who like things a little more leftfield.
