Woody Latuheru a.k.a KA-YU (DTW/AIM) is a young producer, percussionist and dj from a little village in Holland called Oosterwolde. His roots lay in Holland and Kilang, a village in Ambon, one of the Islands of Maluku. His love for music and beatmaking goes very deep and the music he makes comes right from his heart and soul.

In his later years, he began listening to Hip Hop and R&B which shaped his sounds. At the age of 14, he started making sample based beats and taught himself the fundamentals, sampling jazz, soul, funk & r&b.

In 2014 he really started to focus on making good quality music and released the song ''Forbidden Fruit''. This was a eyeopener to him to push his music career to a next level.
Currently he is working hard on his beats and is also focussing on being a percussionist.

KA-YU's inspirations to make music comes from God, his family, the Art In Melodies collective and his ancestors. but his biggest source of inspiration will always be his father who taught him how to play rhythms on several percussion instruments.

Be on the lookout as he's currently working on a EP, ''Yung Kayubesi'' due out later on this year.

Has it really been 5 years since the last installment?! Since Volume.2 dropped I've gone through a few changes: from having 2 kids, to moving home and changing careers.. not to mention running the Expansions Collective label. But I always manage to return to the source eventually. 

Life Sketches has always been about collaboration. The record is as much about the people who contributed to it as it is about me. From Buscrates and Octavio Santos, to Grap Luva and Von Pea, the artists on this record are people I both admire and respect. This record wouldn't be possible without them.
